The Lyrics

President Obama sure hasn't lost his touch. On September 9th, he used a joint session of Congress as a background to push for his latest round of economic cure-alls. Nancy Pelosi even accused Republicans of disrespecting the occasion when they chose not to give a response! I have not been truly exact in this parody. I have used over twenty references to "Pass it now!", "Pass this bill today!", "Pass this jobs bill now!", and countless variations rather than the mere eighteen the President used. ;D

Gave my big jobs bill address.
Pass it! Pass it!
Cure for economic mess.
Pass this bill today!
I used joint session for a great backdrop.
Pass it! Pass it!
My plans won't work but I'm never gonna stop.
Pass it right away!

Pass the bill right now!
Pass it right away!
I need more money so I'm doub'ling down.
Don't ask me how we will pay.

It's all the stuff that I have used before.
Pass it! Pass it!
Now I must have four hundred billion more.
Pass it! Don't delay!
Rush it through, we cannot have a fuss.
Pass it! Pass it!
Notice I did not say "stimulus"!
Pass the bill today!

Didn't work last time,
Will this time you bet.
My profs and czars have told me it's no crime
If we explode the debt.

I'll give specifics at a later date.
Pass it! Pass it!
But you must pass it and you cannot wait!
Pass the bill today!
Like when Pelosi gave us all a thrill -
Pass it! Pass it!
Pass it then you'll know what's in the bill!
Pass it right away!

Paying big today
While the future robs!
And 'though I joke about it shamelessly
More shovel-ready jobs!

More details (the actual bill) will follow at a later date. ;D

I don't care if your horse stumbled a "bit" on the turns, it "passed" the entire field and got to the "finish line" laughing! Growing up in Pittsburgh PA, I learned to love Stephen Foster's songs almost as much as kids in Cincinnati (or nearby) did.
