The Lyrics

Commeration of the fortieth anniversary of "Sgt. Pepper".
They were a groovy foursome from the British Isles,
There were no rock and rollers who could match their style.
The girls swooned when they crooned,
"Why on earth should I moan, 'cause when I get you alone".
They're in America, playin' rock 'n' roll -
They're the Boogie Woogie Beatle Boys of ole Liverpool.

The came to play their music for our Uncle Sam -
It really brought 'em up because it made 'em jam.
Walter Cronkite was their man -
When they appeared on the news somebody hired the band.
They're on Ed Sullivan, playin' rock 'n' roll -
They're the Boogie Woogie Beatle Boys of ole Liverpool.

O-bla di, o bla da, o bla diddelyada da -
They even play the sitar, in boogie rhythm,
They sing a new note whenever Ravi Shankar is playing with them.
They really blow our minds when they play rock 'n' roll -
They're the Boogie Woogie Beatle Boys of ole Liverpool.

Then our Boogie Woogie Beatle played a strange melody -
He could sing the Hare Krishna because of a different kind of "tea".
"Turn off your mind, relax and float down stream." high as a kite.
He's the Boogie Woogie Beatle Boy of "Strawberry Fields".

Boom, boom, boom, boom diddelyada, boom diddelyada -
Wooooo - How they love Ringo Starr!
How he sings and he plays with the bass and guitar keeping rhythm.
And the girls freak out when he sings rock 'n' roll -
He's the Boogie Woogie Beatle Boy of ole Liverpool.

A groupie by the name of Yoko stayed a while -
She made a lot of noise that really cramped their style.
They flapped their "Wings" and flew away -
The "All Stars" then "lit a fire" with George on "Cloud Nine" today.
At last they broke it up, they don't play rock 'n' roll -
No more Boogie Woogie Beatle Boys of ole Liverpool.

Na-naa-na na-naa-na-na na
Na-naa-na na-naa-na-na na
Na-naa-na na-naa-na-na na
Heyyyyyyyyy, Juuuuuuuude!

Still on the radio, singen' rock 'n' roll -
The Boogie Woogie Beatle Boys of ole Liverpool.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Yeeeeeaaaah!

I think you've done a great job on this classic oldie...fine Beatle tribute, and I like the way you incorporated their song, "Obli Di," into it...I see only 6 of us have ever done this tune...again, I compliment you on a top effort....I'm surprised more votes aren't coming in, but then...weekends are pretty slow, around here

2 Eagle - I give you fives just for the title and the idea and what Farce said about the ob la di stuff - that fits just so perfectly into the OS. A plus being historically accurate to boot. Now this is parody at its very finest. Heck - The OS has to be older than any parody writer out here except for maybe the Farce, but that may be because he is into the really old stuff and he does it so well. It's an over 60 year old OS done on a group that was cutting edge 35 to 40 years ago and plays great in the 21st century. Well done.

200Eagles, this is wonderful, sir ! Beatles are one of the most deligtful products of the British Empire ! I admire the way you mentioned that 'yucky groupie" . . .
