Song Parodies -> "I Only Have Eyes For Ewe"

Original Song Title:

"I Only Have Eyes For You"

Original Performer:

The Flamingos

Parody Song Title:

"I Only Have Eyes For Ewe"

Parody Written by:

Tommy Turtle

The Lyrics

OS written in 1934, covered much, but The Flamingos' 1959 hit was voted #157 in Rolling Stone Magazine's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" ... Nice video of the original 45rpm on a high-quality component system here.

(shoo-bop-she-bops throughout, with the occasional "baa")

My love must be a fine ovine love
I don't see any Hon who'll do

Are the bars full tonight?
I don't care if the prospects are bright
I only have eyes for ewe, deer

Her "moon" may be hot
But I say to myself (shrug), "So what?"
'Cause I only have rise for ewe

They don't blow if near, I am fartin'
More blissom-shrouded survenue [1]

Ewes are near
So go: lamb, I
Wistful worlds' worth of women, woe: "Why...?"
I've no wish for a witch-...-y shrew
And my only salve: thighs of ewe

[1] Both "blissom" and "survenue" are well worth looking up at, say, dictionary.com, esp. the second meaning of the first one. The def. of the second one has an unintended double-entendre that's hilarious in this context. Waay too cool to give away here. ;)

The eyes have it...and so do your sheep songs...the mental photo of a turtle and a lamb together, is too much

Old Man Ribber: Never empty! ... thanks for v/c.

Mark Scotti: If one can call this particular genre "classic", LOL. Thanks, Mark!

MasonR: Long time, no see! LOL, but would that be "ramifornications?" :) Thanks for v/c!

AFW: It *does* kind of boggle the mind, doesn't it? (assuming the turtle has a mind) Thanks for v/c.

UnKnownVotress: I DK; you'd have to ask him. Am I my brother's sheeper? (heh heh heh) Thanks for stopping by!

Ewe write the most ewe-phoric parody, Turtle! Bleating ya 5's!
Q:What's African country do ovines love to visit?
A: Ewe-ganda.
Forgive the bad joke, but it's worth a try at least.

Christie Marie M, thou art far too modest, m'Lady! *Loved* "ewephoric", and ROFL @ the joke! Ever thought of going into comedy? Ewe should give it a try -- ewe'd be a sure hit in Ewerope! Thank ewe for v/c/j (-oke)!

Just came upon this one today! (damn, thought I was all-knowing... hell!) Butt, just too, tewe funny... must import this ditty to my netherworlds STAT! And your vocab? Where *do* you find 'em... ewephonious ewepemisms e're abound, cavort n' caper across your ovine ouerve!
Tommy Turtle - July 17, 2010 - Report this comment
Lewecifer's Lust: As General William Tocomesir Sureman said, "Wh*re is hell, but sheep are ovine - er, divine!" ... or something like that. ... lol @ "hell" in context!

As for vocab, etc., I'm afraid that's (im-)proprietary knowledge, ever to remain TT's arcane secret -- can't *give* it away (as the above-mentioned Hell-enic hores say). Thank ewe for v/c!
