The Lyrics

If you are a cartoon fan, you might remember the singing frog in the Warner Brothers cartoon One Froggy Evening (1955) and Another Froggy Evening (circa 1960s). Check these out on Youtube. The gag was that this talented singing frog with the most magnificent baritone voice would only sing in the presence of his finder and never in public. He wore a top hat, carried a cane, and danced as he sang...never more than one chorus of his songs. I've put together his two most memorable tunes into a medley. Much later, T.V.'s Warner Brothers Network used him as an emcee and named him Michigan J. Frog (after his song The Michigan Rag). I've put the memorable amphibian's two best songs together for this parody. ;D

(Tune of Hello. My Baby)
Hey, what to I hear?
Oh my oh my dear.
I found a singing frog.
Can you imagine that?
He's a got a cane and hat.
I'm fantasizing
His vocalizing
Will make me rich I see.
The only problem is -
He'll only sing for me!

(Tune of The Michigan Rag)
Cartoon fans all love that Michigan frog.
There is none above that Michigan frog.
His sound is so deep and rich.
With his voice I'd gladly switch.
Sing - swing - bring that Michigan
Stop - hop - chop that Michigan
Hear - fear - cheer that Michigan frog.
That singing frog!

The frog's inimatable rendition of Hello My Baby was used the Mel Brooks movie Spaceballs when the alien burst from John Hurt's stomach (ala Alien) and danced on the diner counter. The frog is the only Warner Brothers cartoon character I enjoy more than my man Elmer Fudd...which is disgwaceful! ;D

This brings back memories - I remember the frog. Five, five, five from me, but I'm the only one who hears it.

Hello, Old Man Ribber. Indeed, Beethoven was a tough one to parody. Cartoons are even tougher. I sure could use your talents. I'm a Cincinnati native. Shoot me an email when you get a chance and let's see what we can collaberate on. derek@americantongue.com BTW, Where can I hear your parodies? Do you have a website?

WB cartoons were the best, and this is one of the best.

At first I thought this might be about the 'Crazy Frog' that drove everyone nuts a few years ago... but this is way better! 555
