The Lyrics

Talk about history! The music of TOS was written in 1912 as "Melody in A" by amateur composer Charles Dawes...who was Calvin Coolidge's vice-president in 1924! Further reading revealed that Dawes's father Rufus was a commander in the Wisconsin "Iron Brigade" during the Civil War. Even more interesting, his great-great grandfather William Dawes was a Revolutionary War figure and a participant in Paul Revere's ride! Finally, Charles Dawes and I are fraternity brothers (Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia)! Count on it...I'll write a song about him someday soon. ;D

Obama makes centrist talk, but no walk - it'a a game.
All of the programs are still in effect - full force.
For the czars aren't gone. It's a major P.R. con.
It's just re-election talk - of course!

So all the voters he'll fool. It's the rule - what a shame.
Changing no substance just style - with a screen of smoke.
He has won McCain, who shifts like - a well-oiled weather vane.
'Though this whole routine's a joke.

Spending still out of control - 'til we all are broke.
But since now he's nice - he'll keep our heads locked up in his vise,
And the New O. is just hoke!

;D

Chic(ago)anery on full display... [New thought for the global warming crowd: Perhaps it's just all the hot air coming from the White House...] ;)

Ya tryin' ta compete fer title of "Most Trivia Included In Songs, Intros, And Outros?" ;-D

Thought this must be a different OS from the 1958 Tommy Edwards #1 hit, "It's All in the Game.", but the history matches, so the OS title is off. (No deduction. ;)

Also, great song, but timing: Was *truly* expecting a(nother) Super Bowl parody, but nothing wrong with that. Spot-on sentiments, excellently expressed, eliciting enthusiastic Threes! [1]

[1] That was said only to keep the Left happy. Actual vote - *which so often differs from the sound-byte rhetoric" - was VVV. ;-D

ROFL! Call Al Gore -- you may have solved the problem!

Will calculate how much the Earth's temp would drop if all posturing politicians were to shut up immediately and forever, but it might take a while, even for this number-cruncher. Will let you know when done. ;-D

TT - Many thanks. Quite a few historical figures of note were composers - Frederick The Great, Henry The Eighth, Jean Jacques Rosseau, Barry Manilow (jk!), etc. ;D
