Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Textbooks roasting on an open fire
Desktop kindling down below
School-time perils leave us less than inspired and
Feeling glum about our woes

Everybody knows that smirking and some fists and blows
Helped to make a recess fight
Tiny snots with their fingers in their nose
Will not keep us from sleep tonight

We know that Santa's on his way
And he's got two more weeks vacation on his sleigh
And every mother's child—

(squeeze into melody quickly) will do whatever it is they do
On Christmas break—I don't want to think about it or
See them at Wal-mart or write another lesson
Until I absolutely have to

And when that January bell does ring
We'll have King Day then no rest "till Spring Break
Although it wont be said, on every mind every day is
"How much longer, How much longer, How much longer 'til May?"

(to the tune of "Jingle Bells")
Go away, go away, very far away!

The first verse was a scream.

I agree with John...seemed to lose a little continuity, after that...and had some pacing problems midway...but overall theme, very good

I like the concept.

Thanks for your comments. It's hard to convey the quick middle part in text--it's supposed to be a break from the pacing. I actually wrote this to sing at a faculty Christmas party. I live in a small town and am always running into my students at Wal-Mart.
