The Lyrics

Where's "The happiest place on earth?" Not here.
O, I wish I were far from Anaheim, now
Lots of smog and corp'rate crime now
Stuck all day, stuck all day
Stuck all day, Disneyland

This Disneyland my kids demanded
Wife says "Yes" and I'm commanded
Stuck all day, stuck all day
Stuck all day, Disneyland

O, I waited for the pirates
All day, all day
At Disneyland I just can't stand
In line for one quick thrill ride
You pay, you pay
Then wait in line at Disney!

The only ride that lasts for hours
Is the one with singing flowers
Get away, get away
Tiny world, after all

And Tomorrowland seems like the past, now
'Cept it doesn't move as fast, now
Waste a day, waste a day
Waste a day, Disneyland

O, I waited for the Mansion
All day, all day
At Disneyland I just can't stand
In line for one quick ghost ride
You pay, you pay
Then wait in line at Disney!

Then I traipsed on over to Tom Sawyer's Island
Felt like Colonel Kurtz in Thailand
Run away, run away
Run away 'Pocalypse

In the summer heat when you're all hot and sticky
You just want to punch out Mickey
Go away, go away
Go away, Disneyland

O, I waited for the teacups
All day, all day
At Disneyland I just can't stand
In line for one quick barf ride
You pay, you pay
Then wait in line at Disney!

Clever parody, especially the lines about "It's A Small World" and Tomorrowland. I live 8 miles from Disneyland and have not been there for more than 10 years.

Yeah, I went in that submarine and saw the strings holding up the undersea creatures. Great job and just in time for Disneyland's 50th anniversary - the park DEFINITELY shows its age.

Your songs are all very funny, but this one was especially clever. Brings back fond memories of hurling after riding the teacups!

Loved the 'hours/singing flowers' line! :-D

What Is the ride with singing flowers?
2Eagle - May 29, 2004 - Report this comment
I think the ride with the singing flowers is "It's a Smell(sic) World". I don't understand the big deal about Disneyland. Do tourists come to California to see our natural wonders or our historical landmarks? No! It's always Hollywood and Disneyland. It uses up all the energy, too. I'll bet if Disneyland and Magic Mountain were shut down it would take a big load off our energy consumption.

Sorry, living on the other side of the world I don't feel part of the in-joke. 5-3-4

It's a RAD world after all. Beautifully done. Oh, but Mr. Toad's Wild Ride? That one ROCKS.

Straight 5's for another Disney theme park parody!
Meriadoc - June 28, 2004 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Still excellent. You know, the tiki tiki room just wasn't as thrilling in person as it was on TV in the 60s... must have had something to do with the lack of drugs...
2nz - June 30, 2004 - Report this comment
The invasion of over-animation. Disney, you fiend, you make me want to leave this 'SMALL WORLD'. Good parody, by the way, and very true.
WhizkidF - August 16, 2004 - Report this comment
If I traveled to Disneyland at the brink of its 50th anniversary, I would want a FastPass in most of the rides to ease your pains mentioned in the parody. Anyway, that deserves a 555 and as Tim Hall said, just in time for that event I mentioned above!

Heard Rick do this song tonight at Open Mic and had to check out this site - another winner Rick! I really love the Google ads on the side offering Disnyland vacation packages ;-)

Good news, Rick. Disneyland turned 50 last week! I wish the park a happy birthday!
