The Lyrics

Given the word "Montezuma" and some of the obvious rhymes on the revenge theme, I would have assumed there were probably already a million parodies on this theme, to this song, but, while I've heard countless parodies to the other well known patriotic and armed forces songs, I've never heard any parody, at all, to this one, couldn't find one on this site and didn't find one in a web search, so.... here ya go.
The revenge of Montezu-u-ma
Slowly drains the life from me
Will this porc'lain beast I stra-a-ddle
Be the last to carry me?
Wasn't right, what I have ea-ea-ten
And the epitaphs I read
Prove I'm not the first poor fe-e-llow
Doomed to die in this latrine.

My-y pants are pulled down past my knees
As I wait for death to come
How I hate this wretched, dirty place
Wish that I could reach my gun.
I'll have no last brave heroic stand
So, my buddies, I've begged, "Please"
"Gotta promise not to tell my mom
That I died in this latrine."

Re-e-member me and be forwarned
Never eat the crap they serve;
Could you tell my wife I saved your lives
My-y memory, preserve?
Oh, farewell my chums, I'm fa-a-ding
Soon, I'll look on Heaven's scenes,
Oh, thank God I've fin'lly far-ar-ted
I won't die in this latrine!

Thanks Wildman, Joelle and Pat. Special thanks to Lysol. ;) Wildman, still don't think it's possible I'm first, but I sure couldn't find another. In hindsight, I should have sub-titled this "Here I Sit All Broken Hearted (long version)")

The porc'lain beast has inspired many a soul here, but this opus rises above the stench.

Don't know how I messed this one Melhi - Great number. They must have gotten their food from the Army when our hero in this song sang this number. See my parody on 'Army Hot Dogs'

I loved it. Take 5 Imodiums and call me in the morning.

Thanks Rick and Guy. Guy, I'm not sure I remember seeing that one... I'll definitely have to go make sure I didn't miss it! ("messed this one" Cute pun!)

This one slipped by me, too, so to speak... it's kinda fun :-)

Thanks Phil! Considering the kinds of places you visit on vacation, I'm not surprised you'd find this kinda fun. :D

I missed this one in October and again during Melhi Appreciation Week, but hey, it's never too late to appreciate Melhi.

Good going, Melhi! You must have "gotten it from the toilet seat". And pass the word that the latrines are looking for a few good men!

I see I even made a comment on this one. Must have been a subconscience thing, because I didn't remember it at all when I did mine. That's what I get for not checking.
Melhi - November 19, 2004 - Report this comment
If I thought there was any chance in the world you remembered this one, Rick, my comment would have been "Finally, we hear the porcelain beast's side of the story!" Special thanks for restoring your rating and helping fix the average. This one wasn't going to get any new ratings any way other than to find a good seguay into a shill for it, so I was thrilled to see that someone else had finally come up with the same title rhyme. And hey, don't bother checking mine. Seriously -- if you have an idea run with it! I love seeing individual takes on similar ideas! (Unless they involve the song "Sk8ter Boi," I've seen enough individual takes on that song to last ten lifetimes. *g*)
