The Lyrics

Tales of an enemies list and planned pay backs! Welcome back to the early seventies. Nixon re-visited? No, Chicago politics in all its glory. ;D

Oh be careful amiwriters what you say
Be alert when you're engaging in word play
Be as timid as a mouse
They'll watch you in the White House
And they'll surely pay you back some later day

There are certain subjects you should not address
They could land you in a most unpleasant mess
If you're leaning to the right
Be prepared for a big fight
You'll be probed by F.B.I. and I.R.S.

Oh be careful amiright 'cause Janet N,
.At Homeland Security now has a plan
'Though she won't enforce the borders
She will heed Obama's orders
Get your friends to rat you out to the big man

Oh be careful amiwriters, here's the jist
You might end up on a big official list
And then Rahm Emanuel
Will give you a load of hell
For he isn't very charming when he's p*ssed!

So be careful amiwriters, just delete
Jokes administration guidelines do not meet
For you're not beyond their reach
And that stuff about free speech
Only counts for those protesting in the street

;D

The right to free speech is still alive and well where I'm living, and to name a few examples, someone mowed a Nazi swastika into his lawn and got away with it, people have been putting up posters regarding the New World Order, mass water fluoridation and the Nazis, and the county courthouse opened a "Free Speech Courtyard" where I have seen people burning crosses, doing drugs, fighting and drinking alcohol in public (among many other things) under the impression that they wouldn't get bothered by the fuzz. I hope I don't end up on this list you're writing about, although I'm sure a few of our more conservative writers (1 active, 1 banned and one MIA, to be exact) may end up there. 5s to you.

Funny take... so *that's* why Gitmo never seems to quite completely close?!

Not that paranoid yet - isn't protesting anti-American? At least that what both parties say when they are in office.

It is strangely reassuring in a paranoid sort of way...and not the monopoly of either party to be sure. Thanks for giving me a fair hearing. lol ;D

OMR- think he'll turn over all the files, in accordance with his promise of transparency?
Tommy Turtle - August 11, 2009 - Report this comment
@FG: You mean, along with the promise about not firing gays in the military, then doing so, etc. ad infinitum ad nauseam?

OMR: But I thought Liberals believed in free speech? No? OMG! -- Am I free to Five you, or does that get my phone tapped and my email read? Oh, wait, that's already happening....

(small tip -- mighta' hyphenated "Homeland" to indicate it needs to stress on "Land" to match OS, but very minor).

Ex-ACT-ly. And re: comments to OMR-- Libs are all about tolerance, until someone deviates from the rectitude (as a retired-Navy-officer friend of my father's used to say)....If our e-mails are being read, there is probably only one appropriate response. How do you spell "pbbbt"?

You spell it 3w.hushmail.com. Using the Java option, it's totally encrypted (NSA-proof) *before* it leaves your machine, and can be read only by the recipient. Free, so long as you log in at least once Q three weeks. I use it only for sensitive stuff, as it's a bit lengthier login (they won't let you use a less-than-crypto-strenght pw, e. g.). Or I use it just to picture their frustration mwahahaha ... oh, and it's based in B. C. Canada (the province, not the era), so it's immune even from Court orders from the US.

Isn't it strange that a land that prides itself on free speech, even if stupid, should have that taken away?
blackjack21 - August 12, 2009 - Report this comment
Good job here Ribber, starting to become all to real, but I guess that's what you get with "change." 555

The right to speak does not include the right to be listened to, nor to be taken seriously, especially when you lie like a typical right-winger. Seriously, comparing Obama to Nixon is like comparing Redwoods National Park to the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Thanks 4 the 4-warning, but OMR deserves 5s! One defense against the snoopers is to overflow the flag@whitehouse.gov mailbox. I have self-reported already several times, but never would report anyone else. The short lines should be 8 syllables, some are 7 (nit).

"The right to speak does not include the right to be listened to, nor to be taken seriously, especially when you lie like a typical right-winger."

Those who have no logical recourse but to engage in ad hominem attacks are not generally taken seriously, either-- nor should they be.

"Seriously, comparing Obama to Nixon is like comparing Redwoods National Park to the Bonneville Salt Flats."

Or Thomas Jefferson to, say, M. Pacholek...
Bonneville Salt Flats - August 12, 2009 - Report this comment
Are beautiful in their own way, esp. with the Wasatch Range snow-capped in the distance. Also the site of many of humanity's greatest tech achievements, viz: world land speed records, in both wheel-driven and turbine-powered vehicles.

The right to speak includes the right to use failed analogies, but no one has to take them seriously. And as FG said, an argumentum ad hominem is always the penultimate resort of the loser of an argument (the last result being violence: "He who throws the first punch has lost the argument").

There is nothing whatsoever in what MP said that refutes any single argument advanced by OMR. Having been on the Salty Debate team myself (don't bother with the "master" jokes; way too old and obvious), please know that you must refute your opponent on factual or logical grounds. Name-calling is for three-year-olds.

@FG: Re: MP: Was I right, or was I right?

Aren't you always? ;)

The PenUlTimate Resort Is DefIniTlY obvious here...
