The Lyrics

Whew! Can you imagine what we'd be going through if John Edwards had been nominated and elected President in 2008? Undoubtedly, his supporters and media defenders would be spinning this sad saga as proof of his ultimate support for one parent families. ;D

This child's not mine - John Edwards said -
It's naught but tabloid defaming!
But now that his White House dream is dead
His parentage he's finally claiming.
What brought on this change of tune?
The awful truth will be published soon.
His rep's been blown to the moon.
That lying cad charming John Edwards.

His handsome smile and so slick style
Kept his supporters well-wishin'
He did entreat that he didn't cheat
'Til his wife went into remission!
He must of thought we were nuts
As he blew smoke right up our butts.
No more four hundred buck haircuts
For lying cad charming John Edwards.

Now pundits say that John's wronged wife
Is being cruel to berate him.
They say she's killing his public life -
She ought to just emasculate him!
Such blatant flim-flamery!
It's more than mere adultery,
A poor child's involved, you see.
Her dad is that lying cad Edwards!

Are women's organizations outraged at his treatment of his wife as well as Rielle and Frances Quinn Hunter? Is Old Man Ribber young, handsome, and wealthy? ;D

Well done, OMR. Nice double entendre with OS. Here's 5.55 for a shave and a haircut.

OS choice is perfect! (And so-true outro noting of the double standard in politics)

IMHO, your best ever! Über-clever from concept(ion) through title switch through execution (except that it's "must have", not "must of" ;-)

Yep, liberal Dems can get away with anything from the media, and critics (Fox being the only one, alas) are labeled "crackpots". Join the club! 555+++

Perfect song for a well deserved bashing...fine job

To nit pick, I would have liked to see the original song attributed to William Chatterton Dix and I would have liked to read "must have" instead of "must of." But mostly, I would have liked to read a clever spoof about an arrogant politican. And I did.

I did finally catch my error...too late. I'm not inherently a details man, and a slip comes from time to time. ;D

I'm resurrecting this great 5/5/5 parody from the dead to leave my comments. As a liberal, I used to have respect for John Edwards. But then he pulled this crap on his late wife... kicked her while she was already down. Can't stand the man now.
