The Lyrics

FG and TT beat me to it, but here is my prediction of President Obama's earthshaking address this evening.

It's today Obama, who's now in a mess,
Will give his great State Of The Union address.

While I am no psychic in any darn way,
I do know exactly what he's gonna say.

He says that his first task was creating jobs.
He must think that we all are ignorant slobs.

He says his agenda has always been such,
But all of his work shows he isn't in touch.

He'll rail at big business and he'll rip Wall Street.
He can't see that his plans caused Coakley's defeat.

He says that he hears us and he feels our pain.
He must think that we folks are fools or insane.

And Nancy Pelosi will leap to her feet
At least twenty five times. Nail her to her seat!

He will freeze the budget, no big money spent,
But all his proposals will freeze six percent.

Although his health care plan still lacks enough votes
He's going to shove it down all of our throats.

The great "hope and change" that America trusted
Were all empty speeches. Obama is busted.

He will use his speech to exhort and exault.
His message in four words...it's all Bush's fault!

I'll be watching. It will be classic Obama ( a magnificent performance, this time a cleverly faked pivot to the center). Billy Mays was not America's greatest huckster. ;D

Though I disagree with just about all of what you wrote, I liked the style! With all of this wonderful partisan divisiveness, I think the more apt blame should be squarely placed on two parties that can't negotiate their way out of a paper bag or see beyond their own party pettiness.

Cutting and cunning! Mine got in late, so you'll read tomorrow...

Thanks. Warren, we get it here...why doesn't the rest of the world? ;D

The Founders created a government in which any half-competent administrator could fake his way through the job of President. Unfortunately we have allowed the job to take on an importance that exceeds the capabilities of any one individual, especially someone who is ambitious enough to want it. I'll watch the speech tonight and check back tomorrow to see just how prescient you were. I expect you will have been right on target with your forecast.

Well stated, Ribber. Maybe we'll hear from the SC guy again. I cringe at the thought of him ranting about the bankers - right thing to do, but reduces 401k's and freezes credit even more. If the bankers get hit, they'll just pass it on and make it worse for the rest of us

Nancy's face will be impassive as a rock

That because it has been shot full of botox

He'll be blowin' smoke; he's just one of the blow-

hards down in D.C.--where the bulls***ters go

Yeah, I mean what's up with Obama lately? My parents think that he hasn't done anything to fix this nation up to now! Great work on the parody, Ribber! Here's 555 bailouts for this one!

Thanks all. Unobomber - I suggest you perform an anatomically impossible act upon yourself. ;D

Great job here. While I regret voting for Obama, I still believe he has the ability to turn himself and the country around, but that it will take several other presidents to fix everything done from 2000 to 2008. After all, in the aftermath of Nixon's resignation, there were a sh*tload of problems like Vietnam, Watergate, the Cold War, oil embargoes and the occasional race riot, among many other things, and with the exceptions of things like racism and oil, it wasn't all worked out until the 1990s. 5s.

*Right* on target, OMR! (And the coveted "Uno Award" is proof-positive!) No truth was ever offered without offense. :D

Had a "teensy" bit of trouble singing to OS in spots, but not enough to come close to affect the spot-on observations. OUTSTANDING line: Nail Pelosi to her seat! (Or shoot her butt full of Botox, too, so she can't get up). 555, and what FG said about stepping on multiple toes. The truth hurts, eh, Unibombers?

@ Warren Baker: I completely agree on the parties' refusal to work together. Can't help plugging a parody in which I called both Left and Right Wings to task. No obligation, of course.

Congrats at being the first person here (AFAIK) to admit regretting their vote for the big O. (Not "that one, people! Sheesh!). I share your hope that he'll learn some lessons from the failures, the upset in Mass, etc., and get back in touch with real people and the real world. Kudos for your honesty.

Timmy1000: Oh, the AIR is thick with irony! The Gov *forced* the banks to lend to unqualified buyers, causing the present mess, and now the Admin wants to make the banks the scapegoats for what Gov forced them to do. .. and yep, it'll only make it worse. Disagree that ranting at the bankers is the right thing to do, (Physician, heal thyself - IOW, Gov should put its own house in order first ) -- but the rest was spot-on.
Said as much in a parody a month or two ago, but have a one-plug-a-day limit, which was used up @ Warren Baker.

Very funny spoofing...looks like you and TT & FG...were in the same vein, today
Timmy1k@TT - January 27, 2010 - Report this comment
Understand your point, but IMHO, thebankers wouldn't be getting big bonuses if the Mark to Market rules hadn't been changed, so that they didn't have to write down their assets. They would have had losses, which would mean no bonus. They also don't have the common sense or they are showing their contempt for all of us by paying them out. They claim bonuses are tied to profits and they can't help how profit is defined, but this can always be changed if they wanted. They don't want to. A lot of the profit is from borrowing "our" money at 1/4% interest. BTW, good calls on your parody - looked about like you wrote.
John Jenkins - January 28, 2010 - Report this comment
As you foresaw, President Obama showed great discipline to freeze discretionary spending - a year from now! Well done, OMR.
TT @ Timmy1k - January 28, 2010 - Report this comment
Agree completely re: bonuses, ridiculously low Fed discount rate, phony accounting, but mostly, don't think either Admin should have bailed them out of their own mistakes. Let the losers go, and let the sensible ones survive. I'm in the financial business myself (was that not obvious?); I'm guessing you are; and no one's giving me any bailouts for my losses, nor have I asked for any, nor would I accept them. But I'm still in business, because I know a bad asset when I see one -- and I know a sweet ass-et when I see one!

Thanks for letting us know our prescience was accurate. :)

Smokin' spoof, I had a 5-5-5 vote for you but I'm a little late and they've been frozen.

lol, blackjack!! I suppose my 5's have been frozen too. You wrote this without watching, OMR? He must be getting predictable. I just hope he doesn't hurt too much of America before leaving (don't let the door slam your rear).
