The Lyrics

I miss Stroh's Beer...the beer of my (for a time under age) youth!

I was a Stroh Man - all my friends and folks were too.
With a smiling face - we could drink a case - of the famous old fire brew!
Made up in Detroit - it was always sure to please.
We would all rejoice - 'twas our beer of choice - way back in the Seventies.
We drank Stroh's at our parties and events of ev'ry sort.
And sometimes for a change of pace - we would drink it from the quart!
I was a Stroh Fan - oh what cheery beery bliss!
It had friendly bite - better than Bud Lite - it's the flavor I still miss.

I was a Stroh Man - in my early teaching years,
For an awful day - would just go away - if I threw down seven beers.
All through the midwest - it was Stroh's and Stroh's alone,
And each playful burp - sounded like a chirp - when I belched through my trombone.
It was the most requested beer - and I sure did my part.,
For nothing in the world smells like - a fantastic Stroh beer fart!
Pabst now makes Stroh brand - and it isn't quite the same.
It is just not right - it's like Miller Lite.
The darn taste is really lame!

"From one beer lover - (straight) to another"
So the jingle goes.
Wish we still had 'em - don't like Sam Adams.
Gee how I miss my Stroh's!
There was an advertising campaign character called the Stroh Man...but he didn't sing this...lol! ;D

Even though I don't nor won't drink beer, this parody quenches my thirst for comedy! ;-D 555!

Good Go there, Ribby...I echo your praise of Stroh's beer...although I'm a non-drinker now, back in the same period you mention, "The Sudzy Seventies", I did imbibe. Had a brother-in-law who drank nothing else but,..and we, too, we're avid Stroh partiers..very nice parody..and brings back memories.

Back in 'the day' , was introduced to Stroh's by a guitar pickin' buddy from southern Illinois. The more we drank the better we thought we sounded.. Though I, too, am a non-drinker now, this parody reminded me of some of those crazy fun times. Good job, OMR!

Thanks. I do not always drink beer...but when I do, I prefer Stroh's. Stay thirsty, my friends. ;D

Good one... I'm a wine and hard-liquor person myself, but I do like Keystone Light, Miller High Life, Colt 45 and Hamm's. Never tried Stroh's, but they sold it here about 30 years ago and I have several vintage light-up Stroh's signs that were my grandfather's. 555 mugs of the golden beverage from the sky-blue waters of AmIRight.

Very good parody, particularly the fart line, and comment above.

My 555 brings the vote up to a perfect 6-pack. Another Detroit product wanes, but OMR's parodies don't lose their "bite".
