Thnx Jon, there are 3 Marvel movies coming this year: "Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier", "The Amazing Spidermans 2", and "X-Men: Days of Future Past." There's also French director Luc Besson's "Lucy" with Scarlett Johnsson as a drug mule turned heroine! Wonder Woman has been cast with the Israeli chick from the "Fast & Furious" films but for the "Batman vs Superman" movie and NOT for an independent film. D.C. sucks. She doesn't even fit the image and they messed up her costume too. Marvel is hoping to get "Ant-Man" done for 2015 with Paul Rudd (sp?)... and of course "Avengers 2." "Black Panther" is shelved for now but the Falcon appears in Cap 2.

"Avengers" broke all box office records and has earned over three billion dollars, beating Cameron's Titanic and Avatar. What are you waiting for old dude? Expendables 3 with a bunch of has-beens, the new Rambo tv series, new Rocky movie, or Schwarzenegger doing a new Conan or offered money to play in T5??? Get perspective, Comic dude. Movies, TV, education, news -- just about everything has been dumbed down in order to exploit the most affluent demographic. Fifty-year old schmucks, like the parody writer, with adolescent brains are way past the 35-year cutoff. Grandson, all the movies you mention are for the same idiots who let their freedoms be stolen because they have never been taught to think critically and maturely. And that's fine with your corporate masters. I don't hear you mention The Lives of Others, Pan's Labyrinth, Spirit of the Beehive, Come and See, etc. Of course not! Btw, the last films I have bought and seen are: "The Butler", "Fruitvale Station", "Blue Caprice", "Another Earth", and "The Wall (Die Wand)"!!! As for German and/or foreign films I have, you made me LOL b/c I probably have more films than you do in my vast collection from around the world, from: UK, Norway, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Russia, Poland, Mexico, Japan, and HK Cinema. Love anime too! German films include some of the best: "Das Boot", "Run Lola Run", "Mostly Martha", "Goodbye Lenin", "The Lives of Others", "Wings of Desire", "Downfall", "Baader-Meinhoff Gang". "The Experiment", "Sophie Scholl", "In July" and last one bought- "Die Wand" (which predates Stephen King's Under the Dome by decades)!!! So don't you feel foolish right about now? Der Toddler probably still uses an old 27" tv with a first generation dvd player/VHS player so that he can watch "Oklahoma" for the bazillionth time!!! And what's irionic is that in his day it was probably the Golden Era of comics which saw Wonder Woman, Superman, and Captain America emerge. Comics, btw, can sell for thousands to millions of dollars. That's why adult collectors save them as assets. My whole family of all ages and genrations loves comics and Mad magazine as well. That of course is an American icon. No true patriot would dis Mad. Old dude just needs to get out more often and open his mind. Films like Spidey 2 may be childish to him, but they are event movies for most of us and some even do cosplay which the old man probably never had the guts to try. I once dated a "Supergirl" and I bet she was better looking than any woman old dude ever dated or married. It's not a matter of growing up, its a matter of enjoying life to the fullest and being inspired to do good and not evil. People go to the movies, especially during hard times, to avoid reality. I am one of the few remaining people who know the name of the crippled newsie who became Capt. Marvel, Jr. I followed the comic strips, and so I know you're calling me a Q.O.C. When MAD was in its infancy, the back cover had a send-up of the Parke Davidson ad campaign called "Great Moments in Medicine." Mad's take, The Presentation of the Bill, is indelible in my mind. I have two cabinets filled with back issues of MAD. I recently read the wonderful novel set in the Golden Age of the Comic Book, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. But it IS a matter of growing older. My literary tastes grew more nuanced, and that enhanced my ability to live life to the fullest I could. I remind you of 1 Corinthians 13:11 (King James Version) -- "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child : but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

I have recorded 1,641 films, and I estimate that at least 95% are on anybody's top 1,000 list, including TSPDT. Here's a brief sample: A Nous La Liberte; Aguirre, the Wrath of God; Andrei Rublev; Ashes and Diamonds; Aparajito; An Autumn Afternoon. And that's only a small sample of the A's. I have Berlin Alexanderplatz; Europa Europa; Der Golem (with Harry Baur); L'Atalante; Pandora's Box; The Testament of Dr. Mabuse; Olympia; Triumph of the Will; Vampyr; and, of course, Emil Jannings in The Last Laugh and The Last Command. And Surprise! I have Batman Begins and everything of that genre, and anime which I felt compelling. I do not "love ALL genres of music and movies, and almost every format of art." @DT, wrong person to play games with concerning film collections. I live in Cali and 1641 recorded (laugh) films are a joke. I have many thousands of DVDs and even my old VHS collection in boxes are greater than 2000. As for your list- so what? I have many of those films, a giant listing of the classics, but unlike you have equally a great number of films from all genres and sub-genres with many acclaimed actors by accalimed directors. You talk to CD in one paragraph and mis-use a Biblical ref (meant for spiritual growth) and then turn it around with materialistic bragging rights about BB and "everything of that genre!!!" Really??? Even the old comic serials? Foreign superheroes? And anime can number in the tens of thousands, not to mention the adult spin-offs (wink)!!! My remark about all genres is true. Am well-rounded and it takes many forms of entertainment to please me when not out in the world enjoying life experiences. Wow- a puppet forum, how original!!! Btw, to all- I am a collector and it is nothing to have accumulated several thousand DVDs since the 1990s. I buy every Tuesday or order online, shop in stores. No biggie at all. You've made something out of nothing and out of desperation too :)
