Song Parodies -> "Passover! Passover!"

Original Song Title:

"Ten in the Bed"

Original Performer:

Traditional

Parody Song Title:

"Passover! Passover!"

Parody Written by:

Melanie Lee

The Lyrics

As children in Long Island City, Queens, NY, we sang this song with a tune slightly different from the versions that I've found online. We sang the song with no gap after, "...and one fell out." Well, that's how it is with folk songs and playground songs. Extra verses added because they were needed. Happy Pesach! OS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3YpWgaaYRQ
There were 10 plagues to go
'Cause the Pharaoh said No.
Passover! Passover!

So the streams were stricken
And blood poured out.

There were 9 plagues to go:
"Let my people now go!"
Passover! Passover!

So the hand of Aaron
Made frogs jump out.

There were 8 plagues to go;
Still, the Pharaoh said No.
Passover! Passover!

So the dust from Moses
Made gnats leap out.

There were 7 to go.
Still, the Pharaoh said No.
Passover! Passover!

So the Lord spoke trouble,
And flies swarmed out.

There were 6 plagues to go
Still, the Pharaoh said No.
Passover! Passover!

So the Lord spoke horror,
And livestock died.

There were 5 plagues to go:
"Let my people now go!"
Passover! Passover!

So the soot from Moses
Made boils break out.

There were 4 plagues to go;
Still, the Pharaoh said No.
Passover! Passover!

So the staff of Moses
Made hail fall down.

There were 3 plagues to go:
"Let my people now go!"
Passover! Passover!

So the Lord blew breezes,
And locusts swarmed.

There were 2 plagues to go;
Still, the Pharaoh said No!
Passover! Passover!

So the hand of Moses
Made darkness fall.

There was 1 plague to go;
Still, the Pharaoh said No!
Passover! Passover!

So the Deathly Angel
Made firstborn die.

But the Hebrews were spared
By the blood sprinkled there.
Passover! Passover!

So the Pharaoh shouted,
"All right; get out!"

With their unleavened bread,
All the Hebrews then said,
"Goodbye!"
