Original Song Title:

Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"The Yellow Stain Of Taxes"

Parody Written by:

Hitch

The Lyrics

There's a yellow stain of taxes
On our nation's laws, my friend
It's highlight for the wealthy,
Us needies bow and bend
Few middle class deductions
All a regal legal gliche
Like Robin Hood reverse style,
Starve the poor and feed the rich...

Oh, the yellow stain of taxes
Reeks odors foul and strong
The system they've been using
Has been around so long
Time that Congress made some changes
Since the world's spun many whirls
But our leaders all just chatter
Like a crazy bunch a' squirr'ls

We hear talk about a flat tax
Is it better, who can say?
Unbalanced fame and fortune
Need fairer scales to weigh
Unpave gold roads for riches
Drain the ditches filled with tears
Vote out those sonsabitches
Exploiting us for years..

Fed'ral income, state, and sales tax
Toss 'em all into the mix
Include property, gas, probate,
Lots more could use a fix
Time to rope off all those loophole games
And decrease poverty
'Cuz' the yellow stain of taxes
Muddys up democracy

Yes, the yellow stain of taxes
Muddys our democracy..

Clever lyrics, Hitch. Yes, the yellow stain of taxes muddies up democracy for all - even for the wealthy. The top 1% of income earners pay 35% of federal income taxes. The solution to high taxes is not to increase taxes on the wealthy, but to reduce government spending, so all taxes can be reduced.

@JJ. I never liked that statistic you cite. Suppose your 1% got a further boondoggle tax-cut so that they only paid 20%, of all taxes collected - that still seems quite unfair to the wealthy. But do the math: the massive increase in debt might sink the system.

Vote out the sonsab****es and replace them with: NO ONE! One deranged individual can do a lot of harm, but most of the evil in this world is caused by people following orders from someone else. Let the politicians beg for money like more worthy charities. That is real democracy.

I see my old dear friend Sir John Jenkins has as always articulated his comment in his very own splendid manner and that "Hitch" is a BIG plus on your fine craftsmanship penning this gem of a parody. I am pleased to make your acquaintance on this site. I see a winner here in you, sir.

And yes I live in Texas so the yellow rose is special and you did her right by this parody. Albeit that I am not a native Texan but contractual obligations, not to mention that I dodged the draft during the Vietnam police action. I still served my country just not as a draftee in the US Army. 'Nuff said about that. I am a Yankee by birth born just north of the Mason Dixon line. Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention that Texas still has no state income tax and is not likely to have one anytime soon. Contrary to popular lure and urban legend, not everything in Texas is BIG. You just can't have a negative tax so one of the tiniest things in Texas is its non existent state income tax,

You are likely to bump into me again soon out here as I have not authored anything in the last few years. I have a labor of love for a parody that I must do first before I start having fun again out here. I got the exact right OS today on the radio and the idea fits in such a proper way for me and my writing style. Sir John Jenkins will know who is writing this comment, if he sees it I am sure.

Now for all the gravy you deserve for this Rose, I especially liked the line:

Vote out those sonsabenches (had to change it up due to the sites censor bot)

May your taxes (pipe dream follows) never exceed $5.55. And this parody rates 555 yellow roses of the Texas variety. I like your style and ask Mr. Jenkins if this is not true. In the past when I have plugged newer writers the rest of the top authors usually took notice and followed the lead I scripted. Excellent write and so refreshing to see this quality of work. How 'bout it folks, give Hitch a comment and a vote - this work is worthy of that.

@CG. Your point about debt is absolutely correct, but the problem is too much government spending, not too little tax revenue. And I won’t argue with your point about the tax burden of the wealthy. I don’t know if it is appropriate for the top 1% to pay 20% or 50% or whatever of the total tax obligation. All of the loopholes that they exploit were inserted into the tax code by politicians – sometimes under the influence of lobbyists – most of whom thought that these tax breaks would stimulate the economy. And most of them do stimulate economic growth to some extent. But the tax breaks are largely a situation by which the government picks economic winners and losers, so I think some sort of flat tax would make more sense.

I don't know about all this political discussion about the many ills of our bumped and bruised nation, not that I have never written political song parody, but I just like this work and do not feel like bantering about with it all. You all have a good time with the political discussions. I'll look but not touch. Been there, done that, and ate the tee shirt. This is still an excellent write and if I could vote again I would vote "chingue" once more..

I just did a census on the site and I found an error with my sign in name. Let's just say this author is in the top dozen for number of parodies published. This author at one time was in 3rd place. That was back when Malcolm Higgins, may God rest his eternal soul, was in first and William Tong was in second. But to quote the 'Governator', "Aisle be bach"!

And I still very much like this parody.

@Veteran. It is good to read a few words from my Italian-American friend from San Antonio. I don't spend much time at AmiRight anymore, but it would be good to see your reappearance. May God bless all of your endeavors.

Many thanks, and nice reading interesting and entertaining political comments without the rudeness.

@John Jenkins. Right back attcha old friend. I've been hit really hard for the last few years and this all will be revealed in my next parody. I'm back from the dank dark dregs now and I am not going back. Keep the faith, John. That is what got me back and you know Who is the deciding factor. Through Him I stayed the faith and He did not fail. Have peace brother.

I really like this Hitch writer. Any thoughts from you on this writer? I remember no one paid attention to Johnny D when he first hit this site until I plugged him a few times and you know the rest of that story.

I'll hit you with mail just prior to posting my next come back parody. I seem to remember something about a certain Thursday and perhaps when that time comes again I'll have this work finished. Out of here.
