The Lyrics

This song takes the classic "Sleigh Ride" and turns it into a story about a few friends who decide to take a road trip on U.S. Route 202 through New Jersey and Pennsylvania. After all, what better way to mangle the seasonal classic than to make it about a bunch of drunk college students driving down the highway in the summertime? (PS: I don't drink and probably never will).
Just hear those car keys jingle-ing, spine is tingling, too
Come on, it’s lovely weather for a road trip along with my crew
Outside the highway’s calling and friends are hauling fresh brew
Come on, it’s lovely weather for a road trip down Route 202

Rev it up, rev it up, rev it up, let’s go
Let’s put on a show
Wherever we’re going, we sure won’t know
Rev it up, rev it up, rev it up, it’s great
But please don’t be late
We’re driving along with a song
At speeds you’ll see on the Interstate

My car is nice and spacious
Oh, I sure am gracious, you see
We’re about as close together
As five or six best cronies can be
Let’s go and tick off truckers
Until all the mother-suckers get screwed
Come on, it’s lovely weather for a road trip on Route 202

Just hear those car-keys jingling, spine is tingling, too
Come on, it’s lovely weather for a road trip along with my crew
We’ll get all wild and crazy
‘Til our brains get hazy, it’s true
Come on, it’s lovely weather for a road trip on Route 202
Outside the road is calling
And friends are hauling some brew
Come on, it’s lovely weather
For a road trip on Route 202
(J.C.: Guys, who’s the designated driver?)

only a few more months 'til Christmas! (and eggnog!) I can also relate to your sentiment of "not drinking and probably never will" when I drink my eggnog I just take it plain! 5's

Jonathan, if eggnog were available all year round, you'd probably have 5 or 6 cartons, if not more, in the refrigerator at any given time. My favorite part of the Holiday season (aside from Jesus's presumed birthday) is writing parodies.

Just make some eggnog! INGREDIENTS 4 cups milk 1 cup sugar 12 large egg yolks 1/2 cup bourbon, (optional) 1 cup chilled heavy cream Grated nutmeg, (optional) DIRECTIONS In medium saucepan, whisk milk and sugar over medium heat until sugar is dissolved, 1 to 2 minutes. In a large bowl, whisk egg yolks. Whisking constantly, pour hot mixture into yolks in a slow and steady stream. Return mixture to pan; cook over medium-low heat, stirring often, until thick enough to coat back of spoon, 20 to 25 minutes; do not let simmer. Quickly strain into a bowl. Stir in bourbon, if desired, and cream. Cool completely; cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate until chilled. Garnish with nutmeg, if desired.

Sounds like fun. I drove through Pennsylvania along old 30 Highway many years ago. Favorite spot was an abandoned hotel in the form of a large ship on the side of a mountain. I heard later that it burned in 2001 or thereabouts. I have to travel by myself. Everyone else is trying to burn up miles and gas, and don't like to stop to see the sights.
