The Lyrics

Oh Christmas ads, oh Christmas ads
Commercialize the season
Oh Christmas ads, oh Christmas ads
You’re there for just one reason
With discounts never seen before
You lure me out into the stores
Oh Christmas ads, oh Christmas ads
My wallet you are squeezin’

Oh Christmas ads, oh Christmas ads
You're there on every station
Oh Christmas ads, oh Christmas ads
You're blanketing the nation
I never seem to get enough
The season's all about the stuff
Oh Christmas ads, oh Christmas ads
You lead me to temptation

Oh Christmas ads, oh Christmas ads
I hear your siren call now
Oh Christmas ads, oh Christmas ads
I can't resist at all now
I try to hide, I try to scoff
But everything is now half off
Oh Christmas ads, oh Christmas ads
I'm heading for the mall now

This season brings out all the best parodies. Maybe because I'm more familiar with the original songs. Jesus was most likely born in September. The Bible does not recommend celebrating His birthday. For the ancient Romans and other pagan tribes, the dark days of winter were a time for coming together to feast, drink, and exchange gifts. So, in fact, the shopping malls and the commercialism are indeed the true spirit of Christmas.

Jesus was born during Tishri which is Jewish Sept/Oct probably on Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) because He came to die for mankind's sins. Since this was during the time of the Roman Census AND the alignment of Jupiter with Saturn to form the image of the Star of Bethlehem that the Magi followed... then either 7 or 6 BC. I favor 7 BC because Jesus died at age 33 which would have been 26 AD. Jesus said that generation (that had Him crucified) would be punished for not recognizing the time of their visitation. The Jewish rebellion 40 years later in 66 AD led to the destruction of the Temple Mount by 70 AD and the Jewish people scattered. So it aligns perfectly as a 40 year generation. A 70 year generation of 96 AD also aligns with the time when John finished writing Revelation.FYI
