The Lyrics

By voting ones, you prove you are another Nazi Communist Russkie Fascist Putinoid fanboi.
Ay Putin! Ay Putin!
Yesho voyna, yesho boyevoy
Ay Putin! Ay Putin!
Yesho obstrayeel, yesho grazhdanskiy smyert

We don't want to go to war today
but Dark Lord Putin - he says "Nay, nay, nay"
We have no rations,
we have old weapons
most of us will die this way -

Ay Putin! Ay Putin!
Yesho voyna, yesho boyevoy
Ay Putin! Ay Putin!
Yesho obstrayeel, yesho grazhdanskiy smyert

Drones fly free and they fire and tease -
Tanks blow up, they burn our BMPs
Where's our air cover?
Where do they hover?
What did happen to the VDV?

Ay Putin! Ay Putin!
Yesho voyna, yesho boyevoy
Ay Putin! Ay Putin!
Yesho obstrayeel, yesho grazhdanskiy smyert

What are we doing in this senseless war?
Death and mayhem everywhere and more -
Don't wanna die here
that's what I do fear
I wanna go home back to Dad and Mom

Ay Putin! Ay Putin!
Yesho voyna, yesho boyevoy
Ay Putin! Ay Putin!
Yesho obstrayeel, yesho grazhdanskiy smyert
Yesho voyna, yesho boyevoy = "Another war, another battlefield"; yesho obstrayeel, yeso grazhdanskiy smyert = "another bombardment, another civilian death"

So you did the stanzas in English and the refrain in Russian .. because the refrain is recognized all around the world?

The meter to this song is well recognized everywhere .. da da DAA Da .. da da DAA Da ... The Volga Boatmen were 18th and 19th century serfs who were used as pack animals to tow vessels on the Volga River. So this song is part lament and part work song .. The actual lyrics are "Ey OOH-nyem, Ey OOH-nyem ... Ye-SHO ra-a-a-ZEEK, Ye-SHO do raz. And everyone would collectively pull on each accented syllable .... Translation: the word "oohnyem" is a verb that sounds just like the action described-- Let us UNNGH it (Let us HEAVE it) And the rest is "One more time now .. just one more time"

I actually did another take on this song during the "Epstein did not kill himself" meme craze, where I noted that the cover story was so ludicrous that even the Volga Boatmen weren't buying it ... So here is the "Song of The Volga Denier" ... Oan byl OO- beet; Oan byl OO-beet ... Byl OBEET-stvah; Nye oobi-VAL syebya ... Trans: " He was MUR-dered; He was MUR-dered ... It WAS murder; he did not KILL himself" ..................... Second stanza: "Byly KLEEN-ton; Byly KLEEN-ton ..... Byl AR-kanskiy smyert; Nye oobi-VAL cebya" ... It was the CLIN-tons; It was the CLIN-tons ... It WAS Arkancide; he did not KILL himself

Yup, I did the stanzas in English and refrain in Russian. I thought the refrain would be something which would sound better in Russian, but the stanzas would contain the actual message, and everyone here understands English, so I would get the message through that way.

I also found out the pattern of the stanza matches perfectly the song "When There's a Whip, There's a Way" from the animated movie "Return of the King", so I shamelessly borrowed the lyrics :)

I didnt notice the stanzas before. They're brilliant! especially the "Dont want to die here; thats what I do fear." (In the OS, the lyrics are "Aye dodo aye do; AY dodo Aye do .. which is simply a cry of pure anguish)
