The Lyrics

Just in time for New Year's resolutions.
Foraging, foraging through the fridge
Christmas food leftovers
Just a bit hungry for just a smidge
Christmas food leftovers
Turkey legs and pumpkin pie
Tupperware delights my eye
Chomp, nosh, scarf, slosh
Christmas food leftovers

Foraging, foraging all around
Christmas food leftovers
M & M's, candy canes, chips abound
Christmas food leftovers
No one's home to help me eat
So I'll have myself a treat
Gulp, slurp, yum, burp
Christmas food leftovers

Foraging, foraging everywhere
Christmas elves are bingeing
Foraging, foraging, without care
Christmas elves are bingeing
So we're slightly overweight
Adkins diet, you're too late
Munch, crunch, rolf, hurl
Christmas elves are bingeing

Snacking and tasting I stuff me with
Christmas food leftovers
Gramma sent over from B'nai Brith
Hannukah leftovers
Overdid it, sad to say
Time to go back to O.A.
Feels wrong, so long
Christmas food leftovers!
Feels wrong, so long
Christmas food leftovers!

For your information this song (as I can tell by the excellent pacing) is called "Caroling, Caroling" and is by Alfred Burt. It's one of the 15 Burt Carols. Another very well known one in that series is "Some Children See Him" which has been recorded by a lot of folks. The Rev. Bates G. Burt, his composer son Alfred and family friend Wihla Hutson wrote a different song each year for their Christmas cards. They are beautiful, intricately harmonized pieces that are nevertheless easy to sing. I did several in college and I just purchased the sheet music this year. This parody is hilarious (and so true!) and, as I said, the pacing is letter-perfect. Great job. 555.

fixed the bold tags... the scripts are supposed to look for mismatched tags and prevent them from screwing up, but clearly it's still not quite right.
