The Lyrics

I wrote this eloquent parody of a lesser-known song. It was not only a posthumous ode to Floridian Carlie Bruicia (who was murdered on 2/6/04), but I want it to sound like a British ode. This really persuades you to use the buddy system when going out, kids!
O fairest Brucia, why did thou take leave,
Who shock'd Sarasota, whose city will grieve,
Brucia, our lassie, our lass who was slain,
Has caus'd Sarasota to mourn in great pain,
O fairest Brucia, our brightness of light,
Bright as our white candles illuminating through the night,
O sixth-level fairest, why did thou take leave,
Thou left Sarasota, so they will all grieve.

Brucia, our sweet bird has put in her cage,
A hunter and blacksmith was badly enrag'd,
He take'st thou to chapel, on the parking lot,
A moment of mourning we've ne'er forgot,
Gunn'd down by her owner, she rests in state,
Which brought the reporters, along with Tampa's advocates,
A sweet bird in a wood box, she's buri'd in earth,
Her admirers brought flowers and bless'd her with mirth,

A lesson, Brucia will have to be told,
That's even more precious than beguiling gold,
A lesson for teenagers and all kids too,
And this shall be follow'd and here's what you'll do,
Thou shall hold hands with comrades in traveling roads,
The conflicts of pathways are to be carefully bestow'd
Thou shall use the companion process, I truly believe,
Or join fair Brucia to sadly take leave.
