The Lyrics

I try to be fair to both sides of the political divide and loyal to neither, but the murder of Laci and Connor Peterson, and the way liberal politicians including John Kerry blatantly put politics over people, compassion and justice in the aftermath, was so far over the line I have no choice but to take the gloves off. My definition of compassion is NOT claiming that a pregnant victim of domestic violence should be denied justice, or her attacker protected from punishment, just because the femmies might get offended at the notion that babies are people are, too. For those of you who are pro-choice, do you agree with John Kerry that the FATHER has a right to kill his unborn child?
1)When Connor was young his mom got killed,
That's how Scott must have got his thrills.
He murdered Laci and Connor, too,
Kerry says that's just one crime, not two!

Refrain:
Connor gets killed and Kerry don't care,
Connor gets killed and Kerry don't care,
Connor gets killed and Kerry don't care,
John Kerry has no heart.

2)When Kerry ran for President,
As a left-wing decadent,
One little baby was forced to die
When Scott killed Laci, Kerry didn't cry.

3)Congress wants to change the law
To protect little babies from violence raw.
If you kill a mom and her baby too,
You're guilty of murder one and two.

4)The President wants to sign the bill
But I sure doubt if he ever will
The Senate always moves at a snail's pace,
By then Kerry might have taken his place.

5)They buried Laci in the graveyard sad,
With Connor inside her, nowhere near his dad (thank God!)
But Kerry don't care 'bout people like them,
Abortion is more important to him.

I like your message. I'm not voting for anyone who does not recognize homicide when he sees it. Substituting profound for funny in vote category 2. Well done MM.

Even though I'm a registered Republican, I'll be rooting for John Edwards from now on and not the "other John". His comments were mean-spirited and pandering toward the abusive husband/father vote. He doesn't deserve the Democratic nomination.

John C. -- Good point! I thought Kerry's remarks to Laci's family were absolutely heartless. Plus, on the issue of gay marriage, Edwards would leave it up to the states, which not only is a reasonable compromise but actually does have some constitutional support (i.e. the 10th Amendment). If Edwards were pro-life, I'd vote for him, too. But unfortunately he isn't, which means my search for a good 3rd party candidate continues. -- MM

Michael - I don't know what Kerry said or didn't say to the Peterson's so I won't comment on that. I'd have to make sure the quote is what you say it is before I would weigh in on that. I didn't vote here. I'm sorry but I don't favor classifying an unborn child as a person for legal purposes. It IS a crime to kill the Mother and if proven that is enough for Justice to be done. So the point seems to be DEFINING a person. That makes me somewhat suspicious of the "pro-life" groups involvement here. It gets a little technical but there are a lot of reasons for NOT making that legal change, including the "pro-life" lobby 's attempt to stop all abortions. When "pro-life" spends a little more time trying to help children already alive survive in this world I'll be more impressed. There are still too many neglected and abused among those ranks. Forcing woman to deliver children they may not be able to provide or even want to provide for is no answer that I can accept. Expecially now that States are cutting programs due to financial constraints and Bush & cronies offer no support in that area whatsoever. But hey, what are sick and abused children compared to giving Tax Cuts to the already wealthy? Abortion is a serious thing, but it is also a Medical procedure. Medical decisons that should be made by the woman and her Doctor and NOT the Government or ANYBODY else.

Paul, Even if I weren't pro-life, I would support this legislation for two reasons: 1)if I believed in a mother's choice, I would not want anyone else (i.e., the attacker) to make that choice for her. If she chooses to let the baby live, and someone else kills it, that someone else should held accountable for more than just a misdemeanor battery; and 2)battering a pregnant mother endagers HER health in ways that simply wouldn't be the case if she weren't pregnant. Death or damage to the baby does endanger the mother's health and quite possibly her life. That is good reason to increase the punishment for the attacker. I know pro-lifers want this to pass, but what I see pro-choicers doing is putting their feelings about abortion ahead of the physical safety of the pregnant mother, not to mention the emotional trauma of losing a WANTED baby to someone else's violent behavior.--MM

And one more comment: I hope you noticed the last line of my response to John C. I no more would vote for the driving force behind the P****** A** than I would for a candidate who I know to be pro-choice. I also take exception to the President on other issues besides harrassment of those who disagree with his foreign policy, which seems to be the purpose of the P****** A**. I agreed with the comments you made under "Married Gays" about his desire to amend the Constitution to impose the Judeo-Christian definition of marriage on everyone. All that, together, forces me to look at the third-party candidates and see which one comes closest to being someone I could support. If Ralph Nader were a little more pro-life, I'd probably settle on him. -- MM

Michael - Thanks for the clarification. I'm not supporting any type of abuse, be it spousal or whatever. My point is that legislation needs to be carefully considered for all it's ramifications and not done on the basis of one emotional and dramatic incident, because the legislation will likely impact situations where the "right" thing to do is not so clear-cut. Most people's lives and decisions exist more in the gray areas of law, ethics and morality. One-size-fits-all legislation can do grave damage to a lot of innocent folks just exercising their rights (or trying to) if we are not careful.

Powerful parody, Michael. I happen to be pro-choice, but I believe that whoever killed Laci, presumably Scott, is guilty of two murders. You get a 4-5-5 from me - the pacing 4 because of the extra syllable in the chorus.

"Kerry's remarks to Laci's family"... WHAT remarks? And if you cite Drudge as a source, it'll show a bankruptcy of truth. Don't go to NewsMax: I did, and they don't have it. If it were true, they'd be blaring it away, and they're not.
