The Lyrics

Almost a true story.....
Round and round the housework I go
The front room to the back room
A blurry fur ball zips past my toe
Cat hates the vacuum

There she goes right under the bed
Right back in momma's cat womb
Got my leg as she went past
Cat hates the vacuum

Looking now all over the house
Poking with a flat broom
Blood now trickling onto my foot
Cat hates the vacuum

Gonna toss that feline right out
Lock her in the bathroom
After I go dress my wounds
Cat hates the vacuum

Sitting in the 'mergency ward
How much worse can this life get?
Think about it but you know I
Can't kill the wife's pet
Meow.

I've had a few old deaf cats that you could vacuum right up to and suck up their tails without them even noticing... The pit bull runs from it, tho'... ;-D

We have one that, if the vacuum is on and you attempt to touch her, she shoots straight up, sometimes 4 ft! This happened once near my stand-up bass, and it now has a 5 in scratch on top. Speaking of 5--funny piece, Rick, take three of 'em.

In high school, my friend had a cat that liked to lay on their canister-type vacuum and be pulled around while they used it. Unusual cat!

My parents' Siamese always ran like hell when the vacuum was turned on.

Funny stuff; some great rhymes. BTW, sorry I haven't gotten back to you on the recording issue. If it's not too late, I guess my only suggestion is to change that awful title. Maybe "Stop, Children, What's That Smell" or something. Thanks.

Good rhymes, good ending.

Rick D - Once she got used to it the last cat I had just looked at me with annoyed indifference when I vacuumed. Come to think of it, she looked at me with annoyed indifference when I did just about ANYTHING if it didn't have to do with feeding her, letting her in or out, and, of course, cleaning the cat box. (Unless she wanted to be petted or have a little belly-rubbing session). And that's why we love them so much - it's hard to get that type of "Quality" indifference from any other creature.

Rick, this is gonna seem like deja vu all over again, but I really didn't see your parody for today until long after I submitted my song for tomorrow. It's called "Does Your Puddy-Tat Order Kitty Toys". Great minds think alike - and so do ours.
