I thought this was a neat little tune, but that title line needed to match the pacing --you really have to stretch out the "el cam-ee-ee-no" to make it work. Otherwise, the rest of it was sheer poetry, evocative of a sunny L.A. day near the coast,almost like if Brian Wilson was trying to write a Beach Girls tune instead of a Beach Boys tune. ("get" and "Chevrolet", heehee, funny forced rhyme, too). 354
This song came straight out of my heart. We indeed do have an old Elk, and we often go cruising in our hometown. You don't need LA for it, the Finnish coast is enough, if you can stand the sad fact it isn't summer anymore. But watching the sundown at beach, looking at the nearby islands and seeing the stars litting on these Northern skies, and standing the fact to wear a woollen sweater and not bikinis, is experience enough :-)
Again, my first language isn't English but Finnish, and in Finnish you pronounce exactly how you write. That creates all too easily such forced rhymes like "get" and "Chevrolet", which rhyme in Finnish but not in English. In Finnish the word "Camino" is stressed on first syllable, which makes it work in Finnish.

Hmm...I wonder if there are any other accents and pronunciations that can determine a song parody critique...incidentally, Americans are supposed to say Chevrolet "shev-ro-lay"--but I think I like your way better! :)
