Song Parodies -> "Donkeys Doodled"

Original Song Title:

"Yankee Doodle"

Original Performer:

Traditional

Parody Song Title:

"Donkeys Doodled"

Parody Written by:

Room Full of Donkey Eaters

The Lyrics

Donkeys doodled, wrote a song
Thought it was a killer
But it was a parody
Of something by Royce Miller

Chorus:
Donkeys doodle, make it right
Give the author credit
You would never have a song
If first she hadn't said it

Donkeys scribbled, wrote a song
Thought it was a thriller
But it was a parody
Of something by Royce Miller

Repeat Chorus

Donkeys doodled, up all night
put their heads together
Tried to write the best they could
But Royce had said it better

Repeat Chorus

Donkeys doodled, went to town
Riding on a ferret
Spitting out another's lines
Just like a talking parrot

Donkeys doodle, make it right
Give the author credit
You would never have a song
If first she hadn't said it

A Room Full of Donkey Eaters? So does that mean that you eat ass?

As one who was ripped off a while ago by a plagiarist, I approve of this parody.

People, people, people...

Obviously, the original parody's been given a LOT of free publicity from this whole 'controversy'....

Isn't it farily CLEAR by now that ROYCE and the 'plagiarizing' ROOMFUL OF DONKEYS are ONE AND THE SAME?

How is it that you people are so easily manipulated?!?!?!?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!

to "bastard" (your name, I didn't give it to you): It is absolutely not true that Roomful of Donkeys and I are the same---let me tell you, the one thing that I don't think is funny or right, is making a parody of someone's material and not saying so. They could have, whoever they are, I don't have a clue, been forthright from the start, and said it was a parody of my parody, and they did not, and still have not, to my knowledge, said anything. I think the comments from writers indicate that they also value the integrity of their work, as I do mine.
Anastasia Beaverhausen - October 27, 2004 - Report this comment
royce, i am sorry that you got copied. but i don't think that they felt a need to say it was a parody of your parody because it was so obvious, both by the timing and by the subject matter, and of course by the fact that they used some of your lines. i don't think they were trying to claim it wasn't a parody of yours. but, it might have gone without saying, in their minds. it is kind of like wearing a red sweater and walking around and telling everyone "i am wearing a red sweater."

Royce (if that's who you really are...),

If in fact you and Room Full Of Donkeys are NOT one and the same, then why is this issue still being discussed? As a matter of fact, how do we know for sure that 'Royce Miller' isn't 'Bastard'? How, indeed, do we know (for example) that ChuckyG, RFOD, and 'Royce Miller' are not all one and the same?

Given these uncertainties of identity, isn't it possible that RFOD themselves suspected that the parody that began this entire controversy was the work NOT of the REAL 'Royce MIller', but that of an imposter? Is it not entirely possible, in fact, that RFOD parodied the work of this FAKE 'Royce Miller' in order to protect the integrity of the REAL one? If in fact this WAS the case, shouldn't you be THANKING them, instead of SLANDERING them in this manner? (That is, if in fact you are the REAL 'Royce Miller', and not the FAKE one -- of which, of course, we can never be sure...)

It just seems very suspicious that the server was down for a few days, and then ALL OF A SUDDEN, there's all this controversy...

Very suspicious indeed...

My dear friend bastard: I'm the real deal, my friend, and you can be suspicious if you want.....I am going to write more parodies in the future, under my real name, Royce Miller, and not allow comments, thereby freeing myself of comments like yours---regards. And Anastasia, thanks for your comment, I hear what you are saying, but I feel that a person parodying someone's parody should always say so, for the sake of visitors and everyone, especially the author.
Bastard - October 27, 2004 - Report this comment
Well, it's very suspicious, 'Royce', that you would suddenly want to disable comments to suppress any further inquiries as to whether you are, in fact, the parodist you claim to be.

I've read more than a few of Royce's parodies, and something just seems 'off' about the ones submitted in his/her name lately, but maybe that's just me....

Certainly, no one would argue that credit should be given where due, though it's clear in the case of the Donkeys parody that no deceit was intended -- its very humor depended on the reader's understanding that they were parodying YOUR parody. Nevertheless, a polite, non-confrontational request of the authors was all that was required. There was absolutely no need for the drama that has subsequently erupted. That's why the whole thing just seems so contrived and Karl Rove-like.

Regardless, I'm sure you'll continue to deny any cynical plot on your own part, and those who suspect otherwise will continue to do so. I wish you much success under whichever names you wish to post (though I respectfully request that you refrain from using 'Bastard'), and I hope that we can now consider this entire issue closed for good.

bastard, one parting thought, you are obviously making an attempt to downplay the sincere and wonderful comments of the people who commented on my behalf here-but your attempts are not going to be successful, and like I said already, my decision to not allow comments is precisely because of people like you; my parodies and the wonderful parodies of others on this site stand alone, without comments. And now you have successfully engaged me in conversation, and it's been a true pleasure, but I'm done, not cause you say it's done, but because I am saying goodbye.

Has anyone had the notion that A Room Full of Donkeys and Bastard ARE one in the same? ::) How would said Bastard feel if he was told that? But he seems to think he can make ANALogies that can't be proven. Do us all a favor, BT: put your money where your big mouth is.
Bastard - October 27, 2004 - Report this comment
Who's '"said Bastard"? There ain't no prefix. It's simply 'Bastard'. No, not 'Simply Bastard'. Bastard. Geez, don't you GET IT?

And what makes you think "he" would "feel" ANYTHING? Did it ever occur to you that Bastard might simply be a soul-less, amoral, hyper-intelligent mockery machine, whose sole purpose is to heap scorn onto you and your kind? No, of course it didn't. It wouldn't, would it?

And what's with the stupid proctological references, you clog-dancing ass puppet?

Did you read that? I wrote "ass puppet"! That is SOOOOOO funny!

Quote by Bastard: "And what makes you think "he" would "feel" ANYTHING?" You said it, not me. Seems to me "ass puppet" is your full knowledge of English. Maybe you can use your friends "a splash of gasoline and a lit match" and set yourself on fire. As for your waiting for "the real Royce", I'm still waiting on "the real Bastard".
