The Lyrics

I wrote this parody on Christmas Day, when my husband, as usual, came to me with a sock with a hole in the toes, wanting me to mend it.
Oh, holey socks,
My toenails are poking,
It is now time for the needle and thread.
Just bought this pair last week
And I'm not joking,
These socks are now almost completely dead!
I sew them up and try to reinforce them,
But down there breaks a new and glorious hole!
Why can't they make
Some socks that remain mended?
Oh, darn it all!
My yarn is an unrav'ling ball.
Oh, darn it all!
Oh, darn! OH, DARN IT ALL!
