Original Performer:

Traditional Christmas Hymn

Parody Song Title:

"Silent Night Lonely Night"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Written in memory of my beloved cat, Bogus Khan, of 12 1/2 years, who left this world Sunday morning 4:30 am October 5th 2003.
Silent Night, Lonely Night
How I wish
you had witnessed my birth
Whispered "Welcome"
my first night on Earth
Stayed with me
thru the dark night
Until the morning light

Silent Night, Lonely Night
Oh! I loved you as I grew
And I know
you so loved me too
Kept me sheltered and warm
Through out life's fearful storm

Silent Night, Lonely Night
Now it's time
for me to go
Stay with me please
my last night on Earth
Help me through my second birth
To my Heavenly home
Mother don't leave me alone

Silent Night, Lonely Night
Soon I draw my last breath
Hold my paw and speak gently to me
'Till my life here ceases to be
My soul flies over yon ridge
To the Rainbow Bridge

Goodbye.........

Sorry for your loss. I wish I could find the poem my vet sent me after I had to have one of my kitties put down. I only rmember the last line which read something like "I've only gone before you so I can someday show you the way."

PMS-thank you for your support. I'm good at finding information on the 'Net and I'll try to find it.

This is nice, Carol...I had a cat many years ago and when she died I was incredibly sad...I didn't write back then, wish that I had...it would have helped me deal with loss better...5's

Paul-no matter how long ago it was, losing an animal friend hurts. I had to write this because it hurt more to keep it locked in than to let it out. He passed at home, on my bed, in my arms.....

It sounds like you gave Bogus Khan 12 1/2 very good years. I, too, am sorry for your loss.

I lost my kitties about three years ago, in weeks of each other (Nite was killed at 6 1/2 from a bullet by some sadistic @#$% on Nov. 4th, Taffy at 9 on Dec. 23rd by a car.) I miss them very much. I have written like you about the loss of my pets. May Bogus Khan rest in peace. I'm sorry about your loss.

Diddims-I'm so sorry that your lost Nite in such a horrible way. Sadistic SOB is truly on target. I also lost a kitty(Bugsy) at 4 years old when he was run over by a car. Bogus was so broken up over losing his brother that had he not had Thom and I to cover him up with love I promise you he would have grieved himself to death. I so wish that I had an e mail address of yours, I would like to send you the Rainbow Bridge Poem, The Flaming Bridge Poem, and the astonishing story of the next kitty that was guided to us 4 months to the very day and within 1 hour of Bogus' passing. My e-mail address is carol.carol@iwon.com. I hope you will check back here soon.

Why would someone shoot a cat?
carol - November 10, 2005 - Report this comment
because Kat, there are people in this world that are so twisted that they think it's "fun" to shoot, run over, or set a cat, dog, or any other animal on fire. Sick but true.
Diddims - November 11, 2005 - Report this comment
It is sick, Carol. And let's not get started on the superstitious freaks who still think that (black) cats are bad luck. I'm just glad that Taffy and Nite are together again and need not endure pain again (Taffy was miserable that he'd lost his cat buddy). I hope the best for them, wherever they roam now.

Diddims- thank you for checking back. I wouldn't even waste my time going there about people like that. I stumbled across the Rainbow Bridge poem when I was surfing the 'Net during my grief to see if there were any online pet memorial sites where I might leave a permant written tribute for Bogus. From the time I first found it, the Rainbow Bridge poem helped me start the healing process. It may be a real place, or it may not be. But I can say without a doubt I find it very comforting even now. I sincerely believe that you would too. It's a beautiful concept....

Hi Was looking for something light to use in our Xmas gigs, but I'm just weeping. Thinking about my dog, Mikke. Sorry about your loss. Your words carry so much emotion and depth. I wish I could sing it, but I know I will cry and won't be able to finish the song. Nevertheless, I keep the words in my book. Cheers Chief
