The Lyrics

Have you ever wondered what it'd be like to have an IQ in the low 200's? Well, (at least) one of our resident parodists knows *quite well*—and when that Genie-in-the-Glottal offered me the chance to try on a brain like that for size, well, the rest, as they say, is TTwistory!

By the way, I decided to experiment making a karaoke video to these lyrics—actually taking twice as long as the parody itself--D'Oh!—linked below:
~ Hand-knitted Karaoke Video Here! ~

[TJC]
I feel ‘Tommy’
Just like ‘Tommy’
Turtle Tommy—AIR’s swami who’s swell
Since that genie
Granted me IQ of T’s: Two-twelve!

I feel cogent
Hawking-potent
Of great moment, my quotient’s so high
And so clever
Man, this Turtle brain is *huge* inside!

[TOMMY TURTLE]
Welcome to the Ca-dre Of Braniacs
And our Iv’ry Tow-er’s odd scene:
Here ol’ Homer *bores*
Aristotle *whores*
Plato's quotin' *Gore*
Buddha’s frickin’ *mean* !

[TJC]
I feel wiser
Mensa’s Kaiser
No more, “Fusion’s confusin’ to do”
And I know
Now that ‘G’ is
Si-lent in ‘gnu’!

[AM-I-RIGHT COGNOSCENTE]
So you’ve met our resident pacer?
T. parses the pages he’s read
A genius, but bit of skirt chaser
So we’re not sure ‘what’s up’ when he
cackles “big head!”

A randy sa-vant
This Prince of The Wry
([TT:] That is I !)
Who ‘lip sinks’ in bed
American Pies!

He’s ‘thither n’ whence’
When chan-nel-ing Proust
([TT:] Or seduced!)
But tends to mix tense
When ‘funny bone’s’ goosed!

Sure we’re smart but we
Ad-mit Tommy T’s
Never faltered in
Pacing quandries!

His minstreling way’s
Abstruse and verbose
([TT:] Fact, not boast!)
Dude, each Latin phrase
Spawns fourteen footnotes!

[TOMMY, SPOKEN:]
Speech! SPEECH!

[TJC]
I feel Spaffic
Poly-mathic
Oddly ‘Affleck’ and Sapphic as hell
‘Pretty’ graphic
Now are things I sing of sheep in dells!

[SHEEP]
Ba-ba ba-baba ba-ba ba ba AHHH!

[ [TJC]
I feel bawdy

[SHEEP]
Ewe Jihadi!

[TJC]
And so naughty and tawdry and wrong
I might even
Stretch some schwas in this here baaastard song

[SHEEP]
Schwa-wa wa-wa wa wa-wa wa wa wa WA-WA!

[TOMMY TURTLE]
See it isn’t *ea-sy* to ‘laissez faire’

[SPOCK]
(Dude, I’ve been there!)

[TOMMY]
When you’re a damn prodigy

[SPOCK]
(Rar-e-fied air!)

[TOMMY]
Such a massive brain’s

[SPOCK]
Wicked hard to reign

[TOMMY]
So I gotta Cher

[SPOCK]
Witty reparTee!

[SHEEP]
(Ditto pun’diTry!)

[TUTI BRANIACS]
We feel ‘Tommy’
[TOMMY:] (Rude n’ Rahm’y!)

[TUTI]
Just like ‘Tommy’
[TOMMY:] (*Huge* salami!)

[ TUTI ]
Not-so-Strom’y, our nick’s ‘MC Squared’
NOW AT LAST
ALL THIS LAUNDRY’S
FIN’LLY BEEN ‘AIRED’!

TJC - This is priceless! A parody worthy of the subjecTT. ;D

Oh, boy... There'll be no living with him now! ;)

TT-riffic! Soooo many great lines, but the randomness of "The 'G' is silent in gnu" made me LOL, (as did the "sheep" section, and "Ewe Jihadi") 555 bonus IQ points-- why not? :)

Wonderful "shell game" exchanging of fine tribute words to our favorite Turtle!

Massive cranium-bustin', cortex-loads of thanks out to OMR, FG (well, I figure, what's the difference--Hindenburg-sized vs Cheops-sized ego?), and Mark (thanks--yeah he does tend to grow on one!)---and of course, to TT himself--without whom (I'm sure *he* knows if whom is correct here) this parody would not be possible!

TToTTally TTerrific TTribuTTe TTo TThe TTurTTle. Especially liked "Hawking-potent", "wiser/Mensa’s Kaiser" & "lip sinks/pies"...and how true that "each Latin phrase Spawns fourteen footnotes!"
(The) Who, Me? - February 03, 2011 - Report this comment
I guess this parody must be about me, the Pinball Wizard from the rock opera, "Tommy", by The Who. My friends printed out a copy in Braille, since I'm deaf, dumb and blind -- which makes writing parodies *really* challenging!

Waaaay TMGLTM, but ditto FG's choices, plus "lip-sinks" -- works on sooo many levels --- Plato/Gore (time travel?), "fusion/confusion", Proust/seduced, "Spaffic/Sapphic", (Newer readers: The writer "Spaff.com" sells CDs of his parodies online, as well as occasionally posting here), the multiple levels of "Pretty" (graphic), and above all (or below all ;), the yang/yin/wang-in of "pacer/chaser".

All in all, Schwa-at a Schwell tribute! Racking up a pinball score of 555,555,555, which wins several free re-reads! This was an "Amazing Journey", and you are "The Hawker" of Hawking (both of the physicist and hawking your subject's "virtues"). Now, pardon me while I "Fiddle About" (Side 3, track 2). [1]

Wait, my friends are moving my hands in the alphabet way, a la Annie Sullivan to Helen Keller ...
Hmm, it seems that it's about some *other* "Tommy". Well, whoever he is, he is soooo lucky to have such a wonderful friend "Who" (heh!) is also such a talented parodist!

[1] Yes, there really is a song called "Fiddle About" in the opera, "Tommy". How apropos -- except that the song is *nothing" like *our* Fiddle. ;-D

Love it... TT deserves more tributes and more recognition, and those who read the AmIRight Website News section of InThe00s will know that TT helps keep the site bug-free as well as (along with moi) occasionally reporting plagiarism, banned authors and TOU violations. Anyone wanting to do tributes to me should know that songs containing lyrics that pace to my name along with my parody titles and witty comments are not exactly common. (I don't think there's a single one). 555

Enjoyed this shell-shocking tribute to TT! He's a very prolific writer and his humor...and yours brings lots of joy to this site! I also love it when he writes parodies in poetic/limerick form, which of course makes it interesting! Here's 555's coming out of this shell for this recognition of this parody laureate!! Also, the fact that you and TT had been AIR BFF's for a long time!

Additional cranial blunt farce thank yous to JAB (there's a Spell for that particular expansile malady, I think), VVAFAV (Are you an acronymph by any chance?), Andria (thanks, and I'd bet *someone* with a huge IQ could rattle a few off the top of his carapace!), and Christie (I called 'em AIR cognoscente and Cadre of Braniacs--but Paro Laureate has a really nice ring to it)!

And Who, Me--Thank you kind and anonymous supra-duocenturian of TQTC (the quotient that counts!)! You neatly de-- & reconstructed your own parody, then torqued it and distilled it into a parsimoniously parsed 17 line comment concentrate! Is this the mark of genius? I rest my pace! Long live The Turtle and long live the Am-I-Right Cadre of Braniacs (you know who you are!). Now--will *someone* please show me your Cadre's secret handshake---anybody?

Gladly.

The secret is to use "who" and "whom" correctly, according to the Top Secret Guide,
http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/thebeatles2006.shtml
You were the second commenter there, and obviously remembered well, having used it correctly here. Therefore, you are now a member!

Oh, yeah, the rest of the initiation: You have to go up to Alaska, drink a quart of their homemade moonshine (they're short on sunshine right now), wrestle a polar bear, and make love to Sarah Palin.

(TJC shows up, hungover, bandaged, bloodied, bruised from head to toe) "Okay, now where's this polar bear I'm supposed to make love to??
Tommy Turtle @ Everyone re: FG 2nd comment - February 03, 2011 - Report this comment
Hate to let a multiple-layered pun go to waste:
1) Playing house, common slang for couple living together

2) The TV series, "House, M. D.", to which FG alerted TT (was going to say "turned on", but that goes down other shady alleys ;); TT became a fan, empathizing considerably with Dr. House, and wrote a parody about it, which will *not* have a URL plug, as he's already over his shameless-plug quota for the week (for the month, actually, and it's only the 3rd -- see ya in March! -- kidding);

3) Which leads to "playing Doctor" ... think back to when you were six years old.... heh heh!

This kind of peel-the-punionnery is why the shell gets shared sometimes. ;-D

And Andy--Sorry, somehow--not quite sure how--in the mix I missed your comment and I thank you gratefully, belatedly and humbly!
