In the 16 months since we did this, I've discovered several other versions of "Leader of Iraq" (one, in fact, by our own Malcolm Higgins). I resisted posting this for that reason; I figured I'd get a bunch of "somebody else did that" comments. But hey, it happens.

Yeah, sometimes I come up with a good idea for a parody, and I find out later somebody used it before.

I am very much pro-Saddam, and it's nice to see lyrics that are (either seriously or sarcastically, even) pro-Saddam! Yours is much better than the 'flash' thing, which was the usual overtly anti-Saddam bullshit.

A Detroit group called The Polish Muslims also already did a song called Leader of Iraq back when when the first George Bush was president. I don't know how you can listen to it or find it.

The truth is, evil as Saddam may have been, Iraq was a hell of a lot safer when he was the leader. I'm in China now teaching English, and there's big posters everywhere of Saddam and Bin-Laden, people love those guys, simply because they're better than stupid Bush. America is kind of like China, they turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to the world, even when it defies common sense. Americans may never undestand it, but people everywhere hate their guts, mostly because they are stupid idiots who don't understand anything. That's why I'm from Canada, the third shittiest country in the world. Your song is pretty stupid, but cheers anyway because I love parodies. It is, however, kind of stupid to blame Saddam for things like gassing the kurds, invading Kuwait, fighting Iran, and all that, because it was all done with American permission, which was often betrayed. I'm more outraged about the five hundred thousand children under the age of five who died of starvation or lack of medical care between 1991 and 2001 as a direct result of U.S. vetoes at the UN preventing food and medicine from reaching the country. Nobody, but nobody, kills more civilians in the third world than America, directly or indirectly. So have fun with your song, but if there's ever another terrorist attack (I hope not), please spare us all the stupid "why me?" bullshit, you know why, because you've all terrorized the world since 1945, resulting in over 6 million civilian deaths in the third world. As I watch the Israeli attack on Lebanon and count the civilian deaths in that country (more than 500 in just over a week, with only two military people killed) I wonder why you guys continue to support what is really the world's most unpopular and brutal regime: Israel, where the idea of religious freedom is a pipe dream and killing children or shooting news reporters is standard procedure for that country's military, which is paid for almost entirely with American funds. And oh yeah, remember, they wrote the book on torture. Please stop giving them bombs and helicopters, it's led to a situation most people see as a humanitarian disaster. Yeah I know, you think I'm crazy. Suck my dick.
