Image Parodies -> Album Covers -> B -> The B-52's - Whammy!

Albums aren't only known for their artwork, they can also be well known for an iconic piece of artwork that adorns the cover. Here at amIright, we're not content with parodying just the music and lyrics of songs, we need the whole package! So we've begun replacing the artwork on the various artist summary pages with new album covers submitted by visitors to the site.

Comments: The original album is called Whammy. My version takes place on the set of the game show "Press your luck" which features a character named "Whammy". The look of dispair on the band's face is similiar to what contestants look when receiving a "Whammy". The dog (on the cover) is knocking over a Whammy. Submitted by: Bookmistress

"The Original is called 'Whammy'. " I can SEE that! But I still don't get the joke! All I see are what looks like cartoon characters and "Jeopardy!" screens!

hmmm...well...I actually explained what my concept was i my comments but apparently it was edited out when the picture was posted. I'll explain again, and hopefully the comment will stay (or not) and probably still won't make any sense. *shrugs shoulders* I LOVE game shows. Whammy was a character on an 80s show called "Press Your Luck". I added the band to the set of Press Your Luck along with a "Whammy" character on the left - the dog is knocking him down) Getting a Whammy in the game show meant that you would lose all money you won thus far in the game. Needless to say, most people were upset at this prospect. OK, the album parody concept seemed ALOT funnier at 3 a.m. when I was working on the picture (I admit), so I'm still just trying to get the rope of parodying. Obviously I have a long road to travel. lol
