Although Journey were not the greatest lyric writers in the known universe, they still had an offbeat way of getting their message across. 'Frontiers' is one of those types of tunes. In an abstract sort of way, this song depicts man's advancement into the technological age. But what the deuce do barbarians playing have to do with that??? And if war is for fools, when why is crisis cool? Wouldn't war qualify as a 'crisis'??? I literally cringe everytime I hear this lyric and find it hard to believe it wasn't just written to fill out some musical space...
