"Up in the canyon"?! Aren't you supposed to DOWN to get into the canyon? Or is this a metaphor which is not meant to be taken literally? It would still baffle the average listener.

I have a strong feeling that this was actually intended to be ironic, especially since it's in the chorus (and hence repeated). But still...up in the canyon? As others have said, it's baffling!
