Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both down
Put the lime in the coconut, an' call me in the mornin'
If you ask me, the whole darn song oughta be in there...I read it through three times and it still makes no sense. It's just so funny to listen to.

People stopping, staring,
I can't see their faces.
Only the shadows of their eyes
Most people's eyes are too deeply embedded in their heads to cast shadows. Even if there were shadows of their eyes, how would one know that they were staring from seeing only those shadows?

Wherever we go, everyone knows
It's me and my arrow.
First of all, it should be 'My Arrow And Me.' It is not correct English to say 'Me And My Arrow.' Second of all, when Harry Nilsson mentions himself and his arrow, it makes him sound like the arrow is his girlfriend. That doesn't make any sense, I mean an arrow is not a person; an arrow is something that's used to point to something or give directions.

My old desk does an arabesque
In the morning, when I first arrive
It is not possible for a desk, or any other piece of furniture, to do an arabesque, nor is it possible for a piece of furniture to know when you walk into your office or into a room.
