Don't do me like that
This line has a gratuitous double meaning. He could have said "Don't TREAT me like that", but now the song causes in me that naughty giggle (you know the kind).

It's a long day, livin' in Reseda.
There's a freeway runnin' through the yard.
Geography fail: no freeways run through the L.A. city district of Reseda (which is in the San Fernando Valley portion of L.A.). To the north, route 118 passes through Northridge; to the south, U.S. highway 101 passes through Tarzana; and to the east, there is I-405 which passes through Van Nuys. (Btw, Tom makes a few other references to the San Fernando Valley in this song.)

The trees went by
Uhm...you do realize that's a parallax?

Part of me is ocean, part of me is sky
I wonder how someone would look if part of them was ocean and part of them was sky. Perhaps Tom means this in a figurative sense, but too many people might take this literally.
