The Funny Lyrics: A lot of kisses on the bottom
I'll be glad I got 'em! Why They're Funny: Williams (and Fats Waller, who also recorded this song) may not have been aware of the double-meaning here. So the woman's going to give him--in his fantasy--'a lot of kisses on the bottom', eh? At least one other listener of L.A. disc jokey Dick Whittinghill in the late 60s noticed these funny lyrics and sent him an idea for one of his famous 'story records,' in which a short anecdote was completed with lyrics from a song. Indeed, until I heard this story record I had not suspected the double meaning.
