"Ride, Captain, Ride"
Misheard Lyrics: I was a piece of sea.
Original Lyrics: Out on the peaceful sea
|
Story about this misheard lyric by: Norma Lehigh I wasn't familiar with this song until I heard it playing on the sound system in a Barnes & Noble store. Since the volume wasn't especially high, and people were talking, it wasn't surprising that I had trouble hearing the lyrics. (Although they might just be hard to understand an any event!) Anyhow, I perceived that one line sounded like "I was a piece of sea". I listened more until I could pick up a couple of other lines just well enough to google them and identify the song. Then I could look up its actual lyrics. That way I found the line I misheard to actually be "Out on the peaceful sea"! |
