The Nonsensical Lyrics: Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band.
Why They're Nonsensical: Maybe John Fogerty lives in an area where such things are so common he can see them lookin' out his back door... but I think it's more likely he was consuming substances that shouldn't be consumed. Why else would he have come up with such a crazy line as this?

"Cotton Fields"
The Inappropriate Lyrics: As submitted 'It was down in Louisiana, Just about a mile from Texarkana.' but really, 'It was down in Louisiana, Just about a HOUR from Texarkana.
Why They're Inappropriate: In response to a posting by Meredith Corpening about 'Cotton Fields' lyrics being inappropriate because of the perceived geographical gaffe about Texarkana being at it's closest 30 miles, I think there is some ambiguity in the interpretation of the lyrics that allows for 'HOUR' instead of 'MILE'. Tekarkana might be an HOUR from Louisiana, even if clearly it's not a mile. Thus, the lyrics are not as inappropriate as they seem.
