"Night Owl"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: Yes, I should know better but I can't say no.
Oh no no no No no, no no Why They're Nonsensical: Now this is a great, moody song, but c'mon Gerry - you obviously can say 'no'! He repeats these lines about half a dozen times in the song!

"Baker Street"
Opening Lines: Winding your way down on Baker Street, light in your head and dead on your feet.
Comments: Summer of 1978's "Baker Street" was guitarist/vocalist Gerry Rafferty's (born Gerald Rafferty on April 16, 1947 in Paisley, Scotland to a Scottish mom and Irish dad) greatest solo hit. Went to #3 in the U.K. and #2 in the U.S. "Baker Street" is known for it's combination saxophone, drum, bass, and keyboard long opening, before Rafferty sings the famous opening lines and the great solo saxophone playing in the middle of the tune (the saxophone is played by Raphael Ravenscroft). "Baker Street" was biographical, about Rafferty's early days waiting tables in restaurants in London's tube station before he became famous with Stealer's Wheel ("Stuck In The Middle With You" in 1973). "Baker Street" was from Rafferty's "City To City" lp, and is still heard quite a bit on Classic Hits, Classic Rock and Easy Listening stations. The saxophone solo of "Baker Street" showed up on an episode of "The Simpsons" with Lisa Simpson playing the solo. And the Foo Fighters covered "Baker Street" in the 1990's.

"Baker Street"
The Lyrics: Winding your way down on Baker Street Lite in your head, and dead on your feet Well another crazy day, you drink the night away And forget about everything
Why: Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street" a #2 hit song from 1978 is entitled after a real street in London. The Baker Street in London is where a friend of Rafferty's lived (in a flat). Rafferty used to crash there, quite often, while he was trying to make it in the music industry.

"Right Down The Line"
The Lyrics: The changes that I've been through
Why: Gerry pronounces "through" as "true." That's pretty annoying the way he mispronounces "through."
