"Perfect Sense (Part 1)"
Before the singing starts, there is a sound of heavy breathing and backwards speech. Reversed, the text is approximately: "Julia, however, in the light and visions of the issues of Stanley, we have changed our minds. We have decided to include a backward message, Stanley, for you and all the other book burners". This was a snipe at Stanley Kubrick by Roger Waters because Kubrick wouldn't allow Waters to use audio samples of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

"His arrogance"
I'm not going to lie, Roger Waters is probably one of the best songwriters that's ever existed in music next to the Lennon/McCartney partnership. But, he's always needed to cool his ego down just a little bit. Especially after he filed a lawsuit against his ex-band, Pink Floyd, for carrying on the name without him. (Even though it was perfectly alright to carry on without Syd under the name.) He's even claimed that he was, in fact, the "John Lennon" of Pink Floyd and proclaimed that he is: "One of the best five sognwriters to come out of English music since the war." Interesting stuff...
