The Story: For several years after this Disco classic (which I love) was released and was a big #1 hit 40-years ago I thought these were the lyrics, being for sure that some woman or girl was singing about some guy that was to her a dancing 'Freak' from perhaps France. A few years later, in 1983, I was singing this song and these misheard lyrics to impress some girl and sure enough I did to the point where she was rolling on the floor laughing at my infamous misheard lyrics. - Submitted by: Peter

The Story: The first time I heard this song was when I was watching the movie "Heavyweights", it was playing when Ben Stiller's character was making the fat kids do striding exercises.
