The Lyrics

Personally, I love this show and this song too. I'm glad I was able to do a parody of it for the Barenaked Ladies round! Tough tune!
The way we converse is really kinda neat
Cause we take words already known
And then we change what they mean
When I say something's cool
It doesn't mean that it's cold, Fools!
My implication's that it rules!
There's cattle calls (I'm calling you numbnuts!)
"Blast", "Far Out" or "Groovy"
The stammering of a hippie
That's all stated with our slick slang!
(Slang!)

"Grody to the Max" a Valley Girl jawed
And then she might say "Eat my shorts"
As the English people say "Bullocks!"
Yell "YOLO" with inflection
And I might just punch your face
It's even worse than "Swag"
You know these terms are "such a drag"
And at the dance you might "go stag"
Don't say these lines (I'll open whoop-ass cans!)
"Bees Knees" and "Cat's Pajamas"
Blabbered, The words of your grandmas
These geezers have their own slick slang
It's all stated with the slick
SLANG!!!

William Shakespeare even used it in his plays!
"What... the... Dickens!" is one of the ones he made!
"w00t!" was invented by nerds
The same with "Pwn", "Derp" and "Fap" words!
And even pirates mutter taking part of that "Landlubber" slang!

Rednecks are on this list
"Y'all hankerin' for good ol' grits?"
When surfin' we will hear
"Gnarly!" dudes cheer
(While they're out "hanging ten"!)
You're "Emo" and a "Frenemy"
These teenagers say breathlessly
"My bad's" stated in their slick slang!

"Shiznit" and that "Pimp" "Bling-Bling"
"Gangstas" will get "crunk" and sing!
It's all stated in our slick slang!
(We're all yakkin' with our slick SLANG!!!)

Bravo good sir! Very well done, a lot of funny lines in a pretty difficult song. I still might tackle this for the TV Theme Songs round, but it'll be hard to top this one.

good job! I imagine this would be almost as hard to parody as "it's the end of thw world as we know it" by R.E.M. 5's

(Artistry) Major kudos for tackling this one Matty! I love TBBT and the theme song for it is one of my favorites. This parody was very straight forward with it's topic. You listed some really funny phrases and words that out of context do sound strange and that was great. However I felt this one was missing that old Matthias cleverness that I've become accustomed to. The topic and song choice was a smooth idea, but the parody itself it have that wittiness. I think the was the pace of the OS working against you (which you nailed by the way). I really like the idea, I just wish there was a more word play in it.

TV Theme songs are by nature short (very few shows today have a theme lasting longer than 10 seconds!), so there was only so much you can do with it, but you did it fantastically.

(Artistry) I had a bit of trouble following along to the OS, but otherwise this was a really good take on mankind's ongoing efforts to ruin the English language through nonsense-talk. 555 and all that jazz!

Maybe I should check out this series since it seems to be popular for some reason.
