The Lyrics

What would happen if some people think that Janis Joplin's voice was sounded like a tyranny man when you're hearing that "take a piece of my heart" song or whatever you call it?! Have you ever thought about that?
Do your thing, Joplin!

I've first heard it from the start
Even though that I was smart
Some man's voice caught my ears
Came from a woman? How weird!
You guys believed this, boys, well then face it
Came out of Janis Joplin's
I told my father, my cousin, my very ol' girlfriend
I told my nephew, my aunt Drew, expecting 'bout it then
Well, some people that I know realized it did made sense

Do your thing, Joplin!

Sounded like a man, sounded manly to you?!
Sounded like a man like Robert Plant, is it true? (is it true)
Janis Joplin's voice? You guessed it right, you goon
Joplin's voice, misenhanced
Joplin's voice, like a man's, oh yeah!
Sounded like a man, it's true, all right
Sounded like a man to you

I just thought her voice, ahem... oh no no, not sounded like a woman, yeah, yeah, yeah!
Female voice that sounded male? Yeah yeah, I've just agreed on it
So move over for now, Michael Jackson, this woman sounded manly
Well your cousin's mean daughter is thinkin' about this
Don't be dumb just when some certain people might get dissed
What strangely sounded like a male was the voice of Janis Joplin

Sounded like a man, sounded manly to you?!
Sounded like a man like Robert Plant, is it true? (is it true)
Janis Joplin's voice? You guessed it right, you goon
Joplin's voice, misenhanced
Joplin's voice, like a man's, oh yeah!
Sounded like a man, it's true, all right
Sounded like a man to you

Break it down now!

Sounded like a, she sounded like who (a guy?)
Sounded like a, she sounded like who (a boy?)
Sounded like a, her voice sounded like a guy?
Sounded like a man to you!

Sounded like a man, sounded manly to you?!
Sounded like a man like Robert Plant, is it true? (is it true)
Janis Joplin's voice? You guessed it right, you goon
Joplin's voice, misenhanced
Joplin's voice, like a man's, oh yeah!
Sounded like a man, it's true, all right
Sounded like a man to you

DKTOS (maybe I'll Youtube it later), but this was pretty funny all by itself. Nina Simone would fall well into this category, too.

Yes, I do agree that the Diva voice of the 70's, of dear Janis, did sound rough . . . . but the Holding Co. was so good, you could 'get past' that aspect very quickly! They were truly awesome . . . . and to think that they were so stoned, while creating that kind of music !!!
