The Lyrics

I'm sure you're all aware that today is the National Day of Mourning for the recent breakup of Creed. Here's something to sing during the moment of silence.
Well I just woke
Up from my nap
I looked outside
And holy crap
Inside your house
A light came on
And in she walked
Your nekkid MOM

With blinds wide open
Inside her bedroom
When she dropped her robe
She showed me everything
With blinds wide open
With blinds wide open

Well I'm no perv
No Peeping Tom
I say my prayers
I mow my lawn
But now my dreams
I really must confess
They star your mom's
Epidermi-ESS

With blinds wide open
Outside her bathroom
When she turned around
She showed me everything
With blinds wide open
I couldn't miss a thing
I caught her show
It's NC-17
With blinds wide open
With blinds wide open

I noticed everything
Oh yeah
My mouth fell open
Wide open

[Solo by guitarist or nudist flutist]

Call me an ASS but I
Want more LOOKS at hers
So here I WAIT again
With my biNOCu-lars
And now the LIGHT comes on
Repeats the VIEW I had
I see a NAKed bod
Oh gag me IT'S your dad

With blinds wide open
Inside the bedroom
Well I saw his [cough]
I saw his everything
With blinds wide open
Please purge this from my brain
I'll gouge my eyes
I'll never peek again
With blinds wide open

With blinds wide open...

Two favorite lines here..."Solo by guitarist or nudist flutist..." (of course) and "Oh gag me IT'S your dad..." Although I had a feeling the dad card was going to drop...I didn't see the phrase "oh gag me" coming...and it totally made me chuckle...=) 5s...=)

I'm particularly fond of anyone who spells naked, nekkid. I think it adds a whole new dimension to the word.

Hiilarious song and great ending. What a way to sicken people who were getting into your song!

DKTOS or this group. I'll give it a listen later. Is there a reason there are two parodies to this on the same day? Is this a current hot tune or something? I'm completely out of touch with contemporary pop...

Spaff - well, I almost skipped over this completely because I don't really know ANY songs by Creed, but I thought I'd take a gander because your stuff is usually a really fun read even if I don't know the original song. I'll be checking that site that's listed in a bit.

Oh this is good! Funny as hell! Great job on the pacing, too! 5/5/5.

Thanx, Frankie & BO'M - and Sisters Evenstar & Kicksnekkidass!

P-Rob & Lee OJ: Creed recently announced its breakup, but two parodies on the same day of "With Arms Wide Open" (a #1 hit from November 2000) is sheer serendipity. Rolling Stone's review of "Human Clay" (on which 'Arms' appears) calls Creed "ensconced in bluster....[singer Scott] Stapp, the son of a fundamentalist minister, is wrapped up in his rampages; his virile bray recalls those warriors who turn from bad to good in episodes of 'Hercules.'" You've been warned.

Excellent! Very funny version!

Spaff - When I try to play it from that site address it keeps hanging up at :07 and then it stops and goes through the "Buffering" sequence all over again. After a couple tries it made it to :20 before stopping and "Re-Buffering". I get to the lyric "Well, I just heard..." each time. Maybe something is wrong with my PC, I've had trouble before trying to play tracks from windows players of various types. However, I just READ your parody (which I had not yet done to this point) and it is freaking HILARIOUS!! So, since the early consensus of all the voters is that the pace is fine I will go ahead and vote here. 5-5-5. OH...from your description in the above comments I DO recall catching a couple of Creed's songs while watching Video's on VH1 or MTV in the past. Scott Stapp must be the guy with the long, black hair and the permanently sincerely serious expression. He's rather hard to forget, no matter how hard one might try...

Spaff, thanks for the explanation. If this was a big hit in 2000, then even a contempo-pop-averse bloke like me is likely to recognize the tune when I finally get around to giving it a listen. Anyway, your rep earns you an automatic 5 for pacing everytime, so based on the hilarious text here, I've given you your 555. Again.

This song is AWESOME!!! I have to agree with Arwen about the soloist line and also with Ashkicksass and the whole nekkid thing. That is how my wife really thinks it is said and it still cracks me up! Great job Spaff! 555

Although Creed was one of several "Seattle Sound" bands, they were still one of my favorites. This was a fantastic parody!! Makes me wanna get "nekkid"!! All 5's for the mighty Spaff!!

What can I say, flawless. Great work, man. Truly a CREEDance Spaffwater debacle of a very high caliber. Spelling mistakes relevance aside, I gotta say, so far Capri wins for the most beatiful place I've ever seen, followed closely by Venice, with it's beautiful expensiveness, Florence, with it's naked man, and everywhere else, especially Amalfi, which I'm going to have a parody about when I gets back. Anyhow, great work. Ci Vediamo... no, I won't see you will I... buona sera, mi amico.

P-Rob: Yeah, that's the guy. He does make rock & roll seem like a painful job, doesn't he?
Looney 2nz: Mille grazie. I look forward to hearing your trip report.
