The Lyrics

This is George Strait's hit from 2006, but rewritten by Darrell Wilhelm, master of the humorous parody to match the video more closely. If one watches the video, the early-1970s Ford 4x4 truck and the circa-1959 GMC flatbed are enough for truck fans to tolerate the video, even if they are narrow enough to only like rap.
Drove my old Ford out of Tucson with leavin' the US in mind
I was running from a 4-year jail term that the judge had in mind
And the border meant freedom, romance, no smog tests for the Ford
And that's why I decided to start my life over on the seashores of Old Mexico

When I drove into Juarez, I lost all the money I had
I had to sleep in the bed of my old Ford, which was really bad
But I must not go north, it's too late to turn back, I'm wanted in Tucson, I know
Yeah, and things will be better on the seashores of Old Mexico

Two Mexican farmers en route to a small farming town
Let me ride on a flatbed half-covered with hay
My old Ford broke down, in the middle of the desert
Some cactus farmer's probably hauled it away
Then I slept on the seashores of Old Mexico

After one long siesta, I woke up late in the night
I was startled by a young lady in the pale moonlight
A young senorita with long silky black hair
She offered a broken hello
To the gringo she found on the Gulf Coast of Mexico

She spoke of Sonora and vowed she'd never return
For her Mexican husband, she had very little concern

'Cause she loved a gringo, black Stetson and lingo
That's all I needed to know
I found all that I needed on the seashores of Old Mexico

Yeah, she loved the gringo, my black Stetson and lingo
That's all I needed to know (ha ha)
Yeah, I found what I needed on the seashores of Old Mexico
