The Lyrics

Ok THIS is my Halloween Contest entry for Red Ant's ocntest, still onjoy the other one though DKTOS See and listen here!
SAY! BOO!
Hear the sound of the kids today
It's the day that is the spookiest day (Yeah)
The day
That it is is called Halloween

We've got the decorations yeah
The inflatable ghosts and things out front (Hey!)
The treats, and kids coming for the candy
We've got the ghouls and goblins,we've got our vampires
This is the night we turn on Crypt's red eyes
On Halloween!

See the house across the street
Yeah, their house is the most haunted one (Hey!)
The screams, come from in and outside

We've got a big Jack O Lantern(Lantern!)
All the kids love it, as much as we do
The door opens as we play "Monster Mash"
We've got the ghosts and pirates, we've got Frankenstein
Any "Brokeback Mountain" costumes yet for tonight?
ON HALLOWEEN!

(Trick!)
(Or treat!)
*musical interlude as clips of Halloween songs and clps and soundbytes from
horror/spooky movies plays
"They did the mash, they did the monster mash"
"Beware of the blob that creeps and leaps"
"One eyed one horned flyin Purple People Eater
OO ee oo aaa oaa ting ting walla walla bing bang"
"Theyre coming to take me away ha-haa, theyre coming to take me away
"THRILLEEEEEEERRRRRRRR THRILLER NIGHT"
"Don't fear the reaper*cowbell noises*MORE COWBELL!!!
*sound bytes of screaming from various horror movies*
"BEETLEJUICE!
BEETLEJUICE!
BEETLEJUICE!
ITS SHOWTIME"
"The trick or treaters of the neighborhood have the floor"

We want to steal all of your candy
So give us all your chocolate bars
We're gonna take all of your Smarties
Your candy corn and Junior Mints!
We're dressed as mummies and wolfmen
Also as Shrek and other things
TP on your trees, sh*t on fire
Is after all the trick or treats
BEETLE.TLE-JUICE.and now its showtime yeah!

We gave all our treats to you on this night
Tomorrow we go right on with our lives
Let's put up our decorations after nine
This was a quite interesting night

This is our lives on Halloween

Clever stuff Jack... and interesting how your whole song became a link... (no missing link here!)

Great description of suburban Halloween; loved the clips interlude.

At least no one put burning excrement outside my door so far. They just egg my house. Funny (repeat five times).
Stuart McArthur - October 31, 2006 - Report this comment
I think maybe you didn't finish your code with Jack, causing it to treat the whole parady as a link - nice Halloween addition - 555

(Halloween) Hated the OS, but oh man this is great, 5-5-5
tomario - November 01, 2006 - Report this comment
oh don't you just love the holidays ! good stuff time capsule it for future generations 555
Agrimorfee - November 01, 2006 - Report this comment
(Halloween '06) Clever, fits well with the jaunty pace of the OS.
E.D.S - November 02, 2006 - Report this comment
This is kinda cool, because it was Halloween two days ago it was kinda a little bit boring for me tho. you would never catch me singing it on the streets or anything but it was clever.
The Charnstar - November 04, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) As above
Peter Andersson a.k.a K1chyd - November 05, 2006 - Report this comment
SOTM - Maybe the linking problem is a trick from Chucky on Halloween? Anyway, I'll give this a four on pacing because when I tried to sing along some lines where just too short, but on the other hand I'm giving it a five for funny despite no big puns etc because except for that it was all well packed/crammed with everything Halloween, kinda like a pizza with everything, and who doesn't like that? ;-)
Spaff.com - November 10, 2006 - Report this comment
Well done, Local Celeb. Good job with the cameo appearances of all those songs. "More cowbell" - heh heh. Blue Oyster Cult never could have guessed that their only member recognizable to future generations would be...Will Ferrell.
Jack Wilson - November 10, 2006 - Report this comment
LOL I know Spaff, I dont think they woulda guessed that either
Red Ant - November 11, 2006 - Report this comment
(Halloween and SOTM) Peter Andersson pretty much said what I was going to say. Kudos for working in all of the sound bites before the spoken part; that was an most unexpected bonus. About the whole parody being a link, you should "preview" at least once before submitting to make sure any HTML code is working correctly.
Michael McVey - November 13, 2006 - Report this comment
Interesting idea, but I don't think you should make the whole song into a link. Too easy to click accidentally.---MM

(SOTM) As the master Green Day parodist, I can tell you that your pacing was off in a few places. I love the subject holiday a lot (as well as a certain John Carpenter movie and its sequels), and this was such a fun read. Great job, though! 455

(SOTM) It's always good to see a parody of a song I already know, so I don't have to waste time finding the OS. Well done, Jack!

What K said... halloween has become something gruesome for all the wrong reasons. I have one great halloween trick-or-treat story to tell: you've made me think it might be worth trying to fit it into rhyme.

This is pretty sweet Jack (I swear that pun was initially unintentional). Especially liked: "We've got a big Jack O Lantern(Lantern!)" and "Junior Mints" is an awesome sub for 'punishment'.
