The Lyrics

About comic books (yes Ghostbusters have a comic book :p) Also my first attempt at a rock opera :D and a cookie to who can figure out all the comic books I mention.
[Part 1]

We're the ones who rage the war
The Heroes of suburbia
From the Spider-Man and those who Avenge
On a steady diet of Superman and Green Lantern
No one ever died without comin' back
And there ain't a lack
At least the ones who get away will

And what's up with NYC?
This is how it's supposed to be
In a world of make believe
You can do anything

Baxter Building Johnny sits city of Metropolis
The X-Mansion or in Wayne Manor
While the supers just slug away
To fall in love and fight for just
To Lois Lane, Janine Melnutz and Mary Jane
To keep me "mundane" and loving someone like Jean Grey

And what's up with NYC?
This is how it's supposed to be
In a world of make believe
You can do anything

[Part 2]

In the center of the car
In the parking lot
Of the 7-11 were I just faught
The haunter was just a five
It says fright is where the ghost is
And it's a shame
Cause everyone thinks
We're the ones to blame
We're running out of time

City of the dead
At the end of another long work day
We're doing all that we can
City of the dead
Ghostbusters you can count on us today
Though I am no Superman

I read Tobin's Spirit Guide to get a clue
21st century with a Volume Two
And so it seemed to be "phat"
It didn't change much
But it only confirmed that
The savers of the earth
Is New York's Ghostbusters
And I won't argue with that

City of the dead
At the end of another long work day
We're doing all that we can
City of the dead
Ghostbusters you can count on us today
Though I am no Superman

[Part 3]

Superman can you help
Superman can you help
Superman can you help us?!?!
[x4]

or Batman?

That Clark Kent is so full of it
I've got Robin, my sidekick
Lives are shattered, we try to save
From the cradle to the grave
We are the ones who stop the fits
From old Gotham to Metropolis
We are the stories and annuals
Of the Heroes of suburbia
World of make believe
And You can do anything
World that is in some need
So we wade a team
With Superman!
And Batman!
Wonder Woman!
Green Lantern!
And The Flash!

[Part 4]

Attention X-Men are you listening?
Magneto has escaped and is now attacking
We have to go find him and stop his plot
Wolverine contact Storm, Havok and then Cyclops
Jean Grey is helping control the X-Jet
Beast is at the controls as well, our pilot
Bobby, "Iceman", will freeze him in his tracks
Rogue will sneak up, sap his power and send him back

[Part 5]

To live and not to use
To Ben who I will lose
To fight, Spider all day
To fight what you believe
And I live behind
This woven mask of broken lies
I lost my life to this
This town just doesn't quit

So I ran
I ran away
To fight another day
And I live behind
This woven mask of broken lies
And I walked this line
A million and one friggin' times
But not this guy!!!

I don't feel any pain
I won't antagonize

When I saved U.S. years ago
Running away from fame
When you've been idolized
Tales from another comic book

Captain A
Captain A
Captain A
Captain America!!!

Wow, tackling this nine-minute original is quite an undertaking. I'm not into comics enough to catch all of your references, but there are some great bits in here. My faves: "No one ever died without comin' back " and "Superman can you help us?!?!...or Batman?...That Clark Kent is so full of it ."

(SOTM) DKTOS,. and I didn't get all the comic book references, but the ones I did get were superb and this really seems an excellent, well-conceived, well thought out piece of work. Nice job.

Where's Space Ghost? Birdman? Herculoids? Just kidding. You really make me wanna listen to American Idiot; it sounds like a kickass rock opera from what people have said and the videos I've seen. For saving the world from unworthy superheroes like Danny Phantom and Dragonball Z, I reward you 5-5-5.
