Parody Song Title:

"21st Century Meltdown"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Economy's slippin', all my stocks have fell
Home loans crumbled, Unemployment swelled
My wallet's torn, and the interest ain't fun
We were all blind, 401K is done

My future prospects are zero
We'll never make it without an honest hero

21st century meltdown
Car dealers lost and small guys all drowned
The cost of college is blowing my mind
It's our world's current financial flat line

Jobs are flying due to lies and greed
All the pink slips as the working class bleeds
Circuit City took a huge fall
As do all the stores at all our malls

We have no bank exec heroes
We'll never make it back up to zero

21st century meltdown
We once were rich but we've all hit the ground
Our credit cards losing the light they once had
The past three years have really been quite sad

Can't find a job with any meaning
Cannot get past this deep credit screening
We get the fall out of mortgage decline
Fueled by the bastards who imposed such high fines

Cheap gas is all gone
For cash we long
Bail out the fascist rich guys

Increasing health care scrap education
Can't tell if Flor'da's alive

We are the nation
Who had to much price
But now all our finances slowed

The blood of the poor
Got no money to spend
As our unrest overflows

hey, hey, hey

We've heard all the lies
and we hate the bad taste
Just give us the cash, we'll be sold
Hey save us the lectures
and fix what you've breached
That's what the bankers should be told

Detroit's on the ledge
Most are leaving L.A.
The Midwest is over-count the days
We're stuck waiting for a boon
We're out of time
Pay day is our saving grace

Return liberty
Both parties have strayed
It's the lies that anger me
I've paid all my fines

So vote, America, Vote
Kick them on the streets
Get both parties gone

So speak, America, Speak
Say what we all think
Our future is gone

I thought you were going to do 17th Century Breakdown for this one. I mean this one is okay... Not exactly the funniest you've ever written but the other idea you pitched I liked a hell'va a lot more and I was all set on reading about you ripping into Shakespeare. Think I might have to steal that idea from you...

Expect to see my parody of this: "31st Century Breakdown" about issues people might have in the year 3000 with flying cars and teleporters and stuff.

SirDave, this reads too truthfully to be funny . . . unfortunately I believe that the fate of the USA can no longer be helped with mere voting come November . . . it will take a lot more than that to turn this Ship around !

I was with you totally until you blamed the housing crisis on the mortgage industry, instead of the Gov't who *required* them to relax their former *strict* screening, leading to the rash of sub-prime mortgages to unqualified buyers -- recipe for disaster.
But you redeemed yourself in the conclusion: Return liberty; *both* parties suck, kick them all out. (Pretty much what TT said here, and with which you agreed, so no need to v/c or read:

So, 555, and if by any chance you're interested in a little more detail on "the story behind the story" in the mortgage and housing crisis, the whole sad story is here:

It's been visible everywhere for a while. Big Bad Saddam was never the "worse-than-Hitler" ogre of the post-Cold War era that we've been told he was. The economy hasn't been booming for a long time, not even in 1996. Too many distractions, too many delusions, too many problems being shelved and ignored. The last decade has been labeled the "Worst Decade Ever" and man did it ever SUCK. We need to bring back democracy today. Great parody.
