The Lyrics

Because it's been a little hard on the Big Easy...
New Orleans, don't wanna' lose your town
And All That Jazz
The work of engineers will get the water down
And when it has
Building plans, the government has got
Beats on Bourbon street will be back twice as hot
Forget the water wall
We're gonna' have a ball
And All That Jazz

French Quarter, I still can hear a horn
And All That Jazz
One like "Satchmo" played when Dixie Blues was born
And All That Jazz
Drop the doubt, we gotta' keep high hopes
It ain't been counted out, it's only on the ropes
We need the Big Easy
With all it's history
And All That Jazz

Big Al Hirt, the great Fats Domino
And All That Jazz
The Dukes of Dixieland, Pete Fountain, doncha' know?
And All That Jazz
Morton Man, they called him, "Jellyroll"
On that piano grand, he played his heart and soul
This town will sing again
The clubs will swing again,
With All That Jazz

Mardi Gras, always a fun parade
And All That Jazz
Crepe Myrtle trees, Mint Juleps, sidewalk shade,
And All That Jazz
Girls gone wild, a lot of party nights
Guys with beads to trade to see some special sights
Old New Orleans can't die
How could we say goodbye
To All That Jazz?

Saints in the Superdome, we're gonna' cheer again
Folks within their home, will all appear again
Sure it'll take a while
But, they'll be back with style
Playin, All That Jazz...

Thanks, Kat...I had no idea parodies had wire tight rules...or had to fit an original mold, exactly...Thanks, for settin' me straight...next time, I'll know better.........................Thanks alvin....appreciate your comment...

Now THIS is how to write a New Orleans tribute parody. The fact that Chita Rivera sang it first helps. The fact that Bebe Neuwirth revived it also helps. The fact that Catherine Zeta-Jones sang it in the movie and danced her fantastic Welsh arse off really helps. Almost as much as watching them.
