The Lyrics

Up beneath Hollywood lights
There is a bomb they talk about
Producers all cry...woe
They put a big cash wad down

Thought that Cher & Christina might be a good sign
Gonna break bank? Not that!
Honey, it's a crime
Will need to sell the Dvd
To earn maybe just a dime
Gave it a label, it was crappy all right!

Christina just shucked and jived
Under the spotlight
All her fans didn't stand in line

We say
heey hee-ayyy!
Here comes a movie that's really gonna blow
heeey hee-ayyy!
About a floozie who is really quite a bore (bore bore...)

Wrap it up, camp it up
Wear hose with vest
Kick it up, camp it up
Show a lil' bit of breast
Vamp it up, camp it up
Put them all under arrest
They screwed it all up
The movie they called "Burlesque"

Slick it up, camp it up
This hornet's nest
Mess it up, camp it up
Christina's screen test
Look it up, what a pup
The script is such a jest
They really screwed up
This movie called "Burlesque"

Excuse me if I'm haughty, but what was the price
For Cher to show gams? Bad agent advice!
Silly silly slut smut
Showing off your butt, what?
A trite old fable
It's a failure, that's right!

Stanley Tucci came out all right
But Cher you're a big fright!
All you do is just bend and grind

I say
heyyyy-ayyy!
Here comes Christina out to earn a little grub
heyyy-ayyy!
And believe me it ain't the Mickey Mouse Club!

Make it up, camp it up
Don't let it rest
Shake it up, camp it up
Come on be a pest
Turn it up, camp it up
Gotta fake it with zest
You make us laugh up
At the movie called "Burlesque"

Now, see "Showgirls"? It's already been done
And "Chicago" was this way
And I've only just begun
It's been overplayed!
Yeah, yeah,yeah

Say yeah! (3x, in as many vocal modulations, glissandos and yodels as humanly possible )

Roll it up, write it up
And burn the rest
Laugh it up, tear it up
Could be Rifftrax best?
Rip it up, camp it up
Just make it your request
They really screwed up
The movie they called "Burlesque"

Vamp it up, camp it up
Come be my guest
Laugh it up, send it up
The best east to west
Coming up, like syrup
Ipecac passed the test
They really messed up
That movie called "Burlesque"

I don't know TOS and haven't seen the movie, but I fear both would be a let-down after this lovely parody. Stanley Tucci always does a good job, but I fear that the former Mrs. Bono and Christina would be a case of (groan!) Cher and Cher a-like (rimshot)! Again, nice work. ;D

(Artistry) I haven't seen the movie, but I had heard the song before, and it's not one of my favorites from her. This parody was good for the most part, just certain pacing errors like the first line was 8 syllables and the original has only 7. just stuff like that.

Not bad, I haven't seen the film but I heard the song and it's... meh... Okay at best. The film is playing now at the Dollar Theater but I wasn't planning on seeing this crapfest to begin with. Anyways, Thanks for the warning.

Christina has got to reinvent herself...the dirty nasty Xtina was really a bore, and the big band jazz rewrites are uninspired....what next?

(Artistry) Makes me glad I didn't see the movie. Maybe CA (and Cher) should just work on producing a complete album of well-arranged, well-performed songs instead of playing the "who's the most outrageous?" game. Naaaah, what was I thinking.

(Artistry) Haven't seen the film, but this parody pretty much summed up why I don't wanna see it now. Really nice rant here, 555!

Full disclosure...I haven't seen it. I would watch for its laugh value, for a 1 dollar rental.
