Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"A Transcript of Donald Trump's Inauguration Speech"

Parody Written by:

Phil Alexander

The Lyrics

I realize that this can't really be Trump's inauguration speech. After all, I've been reading that he's writing that himself, and this is coherent and makes sense, so ain't no way the two might be confused.

Good luck, America. You're going to need an awful lot of it.
Hello 'Merca, hello nation
This is my in-auguration
This will be so entertaining
'Cause in office I'll be like I've been campaigning

To the media, to those haters
All those lying mass.. deceivers
You like Donald Trump to make news
But print something I don't like and then it's fake news

Though my int'rests are conflicted
Won't be impeached or convicted
'Cause the GO.. P's demented
And our country would then be unpresidented

I admit there's no disputin'
I was helped by Mr Putin
But I don't want no discussion:
My first rulin' all schoolchildren will learn Russian

President! It's oh, so awesome
President! D'you want a foursome?
Sit on my Trump Tower and get shagged
Don't women want their pussy grabbed?

President, there's promises I might not keep
And lots of things I have to tweet
But first: a holiday
I've been Pres one whole day

Bye-bye Barack, bye Obama
Now it's time for... Trumporama
'Cause I won't let business forfeit:
And I'll have to help my children make a profit

Donald Jnr, and Ivanka
(And there's Eric.. he's a..nother)
We all hope you have awoken:
'Cause I'm standing down now, I was only jokin'

Thanks, everyone :-)
I guess it's no surprise to find out that Trump didn't actually write that outpouring of nationalistic jingoism. And we've already seen the first official lies from the White House, didn't take him long, did it?

It's going to be a long four years...

And to think, you actually published it before the speech. I noticed he used a couple lines from my parody, too. OS was one of my favorite childhood songs. Your parody is quite funny, too. Trump is going to be a bottomless pit of parody inspiration.

Go back to your rugrat rapists in Rotherham, Eurotrash.

Classy. Though fortunately, whatever you may think, you do not represent "America". Or even a majority of it.
Loves America - January 23, 2017 - Report this comment
I'd rather be American than a pompous British ass who doesn't know sh*t about American democracy in action. As for Trump's conflicts of interest, let's look for a moment at the thieving Royal Family of the UK. Land grabbers, acceptors of foreign gifts, sponging off the taxpayer to live extravagant lifestyles. Trump? Taking no income while in office. Donating all of it to charity and turning the family business over to his sons legally.
Phil Alexander - January 23, 2017 - Report this comment
Oh, the irony of someone complaining about my not knowing about American democracy, then following up with something that shows he has no idea about this side of the pond. And then shows that he's utterly clueless when it comes to Trump, too.
American Music Lover - January 23, 2017 - Report this comment
Let's give credit to the real OS, Dance of the Hours by Amilcare Ponchielli.
By law and ancient feudal custom, the English monarch is the Head of State. The Royal Family are official parasites. It may be that tourist attractions associated with the Crown pay for their lifestyles, but that's really irrelevant. We wish that many of the family would behave better, but we remember their inspirational presence and service during WW2. As for Trump, there's an ethical and legal Pandora's Box of non-divestment, non-transparency (tax return), and nepotism! The first lawsuit against this Head of State's D.C. hotel was filed today. Finally, I'd like to express embarrassment for the increasing vulgarity and hatefulness of my fellow Americans on this site and in general. It's clear where the inspiration for that comes from!
Ministry of Finance - January 23, 2017 - Report this comment
The Royal Family makes me sick. Britons need to relegate them to the trash heap of history. Privileged parasites. Too right! Spot on, Johnny!

@American Music Lover: But it's not a parody of Dance of the Hours: the refrain isn't repeated enough times & only occurs for a bit in the middle... was listening to it earlier as when I was playing the above something didn't sound right. Turns out Sherman's version doesn't fit the melody perfectly, either. But Ponchielli did sport a similar facial hair to mine :)

I can understand your embarrassment: the huge increase in people claiming to represent America while showing such distasteful traits must be galling.
CML @AML - January 23, 2017 - Report this comment
And when that same sort of nastiness gets directed at me or others on the right when we post parodies ... where does that come from?
American Music Lover - January 23, 2017 - Report this comment
CML, the nastiness and divisiveness are bipartisan, but you have to admit that, with the possible exception of Andrew Jackson, the national role model has never been more insulting, threatening, baser, vulgar, and tasteless than the current one. The lust for ratings, whether polls, crowd size, or Nielsen numbers always drives the lingo to the lowest common denominator and, eventually, to rock bottom. It's analogous to Gresham's Law: Bad language drives out good. And you on the Right ain't exempt.
