Original Song Title:

Original Performer:

Archies

Parody Song Title:

"Tuba, Tuba"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

This is 1 of 10 responses to a challenge by Johnny D (abetted by Guy and Steve K.) to do 10 parodies of "Sugar, Sugar." I followed most of their suggestions and came up with a few of my own. I've already been to the Archies well 6 times, so no more after today. If anyone wants to take it from here, here are some suggestions: "Luthor, Luthor" (Superman's nemesis); "Wookie, Wookie" (Star Wars); "Dubya, Dubya/Kerry Kerry"; "Shoo, Guard, Shoo Guard" (NBA); "Schmuckers, Schmuckers" (jam); "Suckers, Suckers" (those who voted for Bush); well, I could go on, but I won't. Archies la vista!
Tuba, Tuba

CHORUS:
Tuba,
Oh, horny, horny.
You make the bandstand hurl.
My neighbor's got one of you.
Horny,
Blow tuba, tuba,
You make the bandstand hurl.
My neighbor's got one of you.

Can't believe the gutturalness coming from your flue.
(Gutturalness coming from your flue)
I'd rather have dulcetness that's wafting from a flute.
(Dulcet, wafting from a flute)

CHORUS

All those twists and twirls
Of brass are just a mystery.
(They are all just a mystery)
And that Sousa march time—
Four octaves below C3!*
(Four octaves below C3!)

Don't horn a big tuba for me (toot it)
Don't bore through my walls; don't play it (horny, horny)
Can you make that thing tweet? (ompah-pah-pah)

*C3 is one octave below middle C on the piano.
